Drone Footage: Soviet-Era Weapons Testing Site In Caspian Sea

Support SouthFront

The Soviet ‘Dagdiesel’ plant has stood abandoned and alone in the Caspian Sea since 1966 when tests on torpedoes and other naval weapons at the facility ceased. The fortress was commissioned in 1939 and had all the mod cons for the period, including comfortable quarters, parquet floors, a hotel, a library and even a basketball court. Standing on a reinforced concrete foundation 2.7 kilometres (1.67 miles) off the coast, the fortress covers an area of 5,200 square metres. In a feat of engineering, the underwater section, also known as the “Array,” was built by the coast and floated to the construction site before being sunk. Thanks to its solid construction, the facility is still standing strong today and is a hotspot for thrill seekers looking for an adventure back in time.

Two things come to mind, firstly it looks a cool subjected for that TV show, abandoned engineering. Secondly, why the f*** build a fortress in the Caspian in 1939? Where they afraid of that massive invasion fleet coming in from Iran? Or is this the case of whatever Comrade Stalin decides. no matter how moronic, it will get carried out regardless?

The Russians have always been aware that the FUKUS countries covet Russia. The American occupation of Iran and Turkey was always their bridgehead into Russia. The Americans will not stop, they believe they are the master race destined to rule the world. Defenses against an American attack does not solve the problem of the American mind. If the US does not collapse economically, the only long term solution is to neutralize the whole country and install sane people to rule the survivors.
