On May 13, militants targeted Chevron Nigeria Limited’s oil facility in the Niger Delta. They detonated explosives on an oil well on the Makaraba line in Warri.
The attack took place a day after the Niger Delta Avengers militant group issued a two-week ultimatum to foreign oil companies that operate in the region. Militants warned them to shut down operations and evacuate staff.
According to reports, the Niger Delta Avengers conducted an attack on a Chevron oil platform on May 4.
