And it’s already time to take stock. Since the beginning of the Israeli attack, more than 18,000 tons of explosives have been dropped on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression. These are the data provided by the Palestinian government. Those bombs, the note from the Palestinian Authority continues: “caused widespread destruction and left more than 10,000 dead or missing, as Israel dropped approximately 50 tons of explosives on every kilometer within the Gaza Strip.” The Gaza Ministry of Health announced this morning that the number of victims in the Strip has risen to over 8,300, including 3,457 children. The appeal to the Egyptian authorities to open the Rafah crossing was also renewed.
The war launched by Israel has turned into a real massacre of Palestinian children. The data from the NGO Save the Children leaves no doubt:
”the number of children reported killed in Gaza in just three weeks has surpassed the annual number of children killed across the world’s conflict zones since 2019″, Save the Children said.
Since October 7, more than 3,257 children have been reported killed, including at least 3,195 in Gaza, 33 in the West Bank, and 29 in Israel, according to the Ministries of Health in Gaza and Israel respectively. The number of children reported killed in just three weeks in Gaza is more than the number killed in armed conflict globally – across more than 20 countries – over the course of a whole year, for the last three years.
