Government Forces Made Large Gains Against ISIS In Aleppo, Palmyra Countrisides (Video, Maps)

A screenshot from the video

On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies managed to capture the Al-Abbasia area, the ancient Hamamt Zenobia area and the Olayanieh village southeast of Palmyra.

The SAA advance followed an intense bombardment by warplanes and helicopters of the Syrian and Russian air forces in the areas of Al-Abbasia and Al-Sukariya in eastern Palmyra.

The SAA is now in only 40 km from the strategic town of Al-Sukhna, which is the starting point for push to Deir Ezzor.

In the eastern Aleppo countryside, the SAA captured 37 villages and farms south, including Debsi Faraj, entered the western Raqqa countryside and reached the positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) west and south of Tabqah town.

The SAA captured the whole area after the withdrawal of the ISIS fighters, and it is believed that SAA will move towards Khanasir with the aim of completely eliminating ISIS in the eastern Aleppo countryside.

With this development, the distance between the SAA positions north of the Al-Sha’er gas field and south of Khanasir road is only 50 km. The SAA may launch a large attack on ISIS in the eastern Hama countryside after the completion of the current operation in the eastern Aleppo countryside.

It would be brilliant if many SDF were to get killed.

Rüdiger Preiss

No it wouldn’t be brilliant. It would be brilliant if the SAA and SDF shook hands and agreed to not fight each other. Subsequently the SAA would have more manpower to focus in Deir Ez Zor. Once ISIS has been cleaned out, hopefully peace talks will put an end to this devastating war

Colin Oskapy

The SDF are American CIA trash. Such is the problem with your little thesis.

Attrition47

Yes but one bunch of US head-chopping, heart-eating rapers at a time.

Joe Doe

I would be good if SAA and SDF shook hands, but unfortunately SDF will obey americans and don’t see this good relatio going forward

Bill Wilson

Those two already have an agreement over who’s going where and what is being returned to Syrian government control, such as the power generation plants and hydroelectric dams.

PZIVJ

I hope so. Seems that most are very negative and want to see more conflict in Syria. Take the minor skirmish near Al Tanf for example. But still FSA trash has no right to be anywhere near Damascus. FSA operation “Desert Volcano” should be crushed for sure.

batavian01

No new understanding needed. The USA needs to “understand” the current “understanding”.

batavian01

The SDF plans to take and hold al Raqqa and der Ezzor as part of their planned Kurdish state. They seem to have bought into American promises of greater glory. Last I heard, the USA plans to administrate al Raqqa itself and keep it as a permanent foothold in Syria. They are more than willing to open the floodgates for ISIL’s head choppers to charge der Ezzor with massive force and establish it as the new capital of the Caliphate, in exchange for al Raqqa. The Kurds will get the big “thank you” for a job well done after which they’ll feel the steely knife between their shoulder blades (the inevitable American kiss-off).

Rodger

Who is gonna pay the SDF when they agree to do that?

PZIVJ

ISUS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING ! Tigers are moving well now, they still have to do mine clearance, etc. Route 42 is getting closer by the day, I wonder where Daesh trash will try to make a stand.

Joe Doe

Looks like tactical retreat. Therefore, they will try delay SAA advances towards Raqqah and Deir Ezzor and will setup some defence lines somewhere Highway 42 area.

Thegr8rambino

hopefully RuAF and SyAAF will soften them up like butter for SAA to just roll over them :)))))

Joe Doe

I think Russia is afraid of americans

Thegr8rambino

i think so too but i hope not and hope they have a smarter strategy.

PZIVJ

Russia is smart not to escalate the conflict in Syria. Check out the troll Mountains 2 stories below. You should pay him a visit. :)

Daniel Castro

Yeah, that guy isn’t worth an answer… Talking bold about USA stand on al tanf, meanwhile the so called “coalition” is losing entire countries switching sides to Iran and Russia… lol

batavian01

They do. Steady advancement while covering the flanks and keeping the back door open.

sagbotgamot

they won’t be there if they are afraid. the only difference is the americans play basketball ball the russians play chess.

batavian01

Russia is not afraid of America. They are afraid that some American nut job will inadvertently trigger the next World war. For that reason, they proceed with caution.

sagbotgamot

Haven’t you notice? the russians are not in a hurry. that’s make them look like some cowardice. but wait, look who is gaining?

batavian01

It doesn’t make them look cowardly. It makes them look smart.

Thegr8rambino

Why are they not in a hurry? Seems like the US is

Attrition47

It depends on where the US want their head-chopping, heart-eating rapers to make a stand. It could be quite enjoyable to see them caught in the dilemmas of tactical, operational and strategic reality.

I should think that the Syrians are wary of a dash south in case, it presents a vulnerable flank to the Kurdish secessionists. They’ll need to fill the gap between the road south and the west.

Thegr8rambino

Yes and then break their arms and throw them into a window like Steven segal does to thugs in his movies lmao!

batavian01

ISIL must be running low in numbers and equipment. Looks like both Highway 42 and M20 will be in play for the coming SAA attack. How will ISIL be able to defend both fronts? Maybe once they’re caught in the vice, they could swing back North to al-Raqqa (presumably that back door will still be open although it wasn’t meant for two way traffic).

Expo Marker

There is nothing that can stop the SAA from liberating every inch of Syria. No FSA puppets, no SDF fakers, and absolutely no Nusrat or Daeshi can.

Joe Doe

After ISIS, SAA will still have to deal with FSA and most likely SDF and this gone hards, as americans will not leave and will try divide Syria

Thegr8rambino

yes to down zionist american warplanes

Attrition47

I’m rather interested in the Yemeni resistance doing so well against US head-chopping, heart-eating raper aircraft, it bodes well for the Syrians….

Thegr8rambino

Yes for sure :))

Dustil schmit

Russia supports peace not more POINTLESS stupid warfare that you people crave DEATH for some reason.

sagbotgamot

Peace in Syria can only be achieved with your “pointless stupid warfare”

Bill Wilson

Most SAA units can’t punch their way out of a wet paper sack.

MN

And yet they managed to free Alepo against all americans, StupidTurks, FSA and all the shit togheter… Make me a favor, scratch my left hairy ball…

temujin1970

I am sure you could do better armchair warrior. Stop talking crap and try to learn something.

Gary Sellars

Our local terror-supporter speaks up to protest the collapse of ISIS and FSA goat-raping fuktardz…

Thegr8rambino

VARY GUUUUDDDDDDD

Mountains

Southfront is playing with the minds of the low moral SAA supporters who believe in this. Bro they are claiming empty desert entrances as huge gains. The deserts are open 24/7 to any groups who have weapons and jeeps. They can move back and forth.

You have to keep the propaganda grounded so that it may come of realistic. Hack they would claim 500 meters into a desert area as conquest. spare us this nonsense.
