The Syrian army and other pro-government units have reportedly recaptured the town of Maazraf from the joint militant forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in northern Hama.
Reports about this development appeared in some pro-government and pro-opposition sources. However, video or photo confirmation still has to be provided.
If confirmed, this will be a major step for government forces in northern Hama which would confirm the fact that the Syrian army is regaining the initiative in the area.

Terrorist momentum has been lost few days ago and they had their chances then. As SAA has build up their defences up by now. And i think they are quite good at it after Aleppo win. Experience. Now this will go back and forth. Meat grinder tactics. Good for thining the ranks on attacker side. That’s why they don’t attack. This is just an Illusion. Offensive was made to success in few days..A blitz tactic to surround Hama and capture it. It failed. SAA put some elite group s to defend it… which are expert’s in doing g so. For every village they gain NOW FSA losses lots of men power and resources. This is just a back and forth tactics. SAA is an defender here. They attack tactically and not for offense. FSA man behind this offensive plan know that this will need to be done quickly and during the momentum. Momentum has been lost and meat grinder Aleppo effects is back. This large bite into SAA territory is also a large trap. And the vandeta begins

dear south front can i make a suggestion. please dont call these guys hayat tahrir whatever. always call them by their true name which is al qaeda. you can put whatever new name they have come up with in parentheses. i think all supporters of r+6 should follow this rule.
I concur. Or add Al Qaida or Al Nusra in parenthesis, but never give the pricks the satisfaction of obfuscating their true identity.
Calling them what they want makes them legitimate, doesn’t matter how many times they change their name, they are Al-Qaeda as you mentioned.
