On July 28 morning, heavy clashes erupted between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and militants in the northern Lattakia countryside.
Some pro-government activists claimed that the army had launched a new military operation in the mountainous region with the aim of capturing the key town of Kabani from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies.
HTS’ news network, Iba’a, backed these claims saying that the terrorist group’s fighters foiled an advance attempt by SAA troops near Kabani.
“Several fighters of the criminal regime’s militias were injured when HTS repelled an advance attempt by them on the axis of Kabani in the northern Lattakia countryside,” Iba’a’s report reads.
Last May, the SAA kicked off a similar operation in northern Lattakia. Despite capturing several positions in the Kurd mount, the army failed to impose control of Kabani.

The situation in northern Lattakia could escalate further in the upcoming few hours. Russia and Syrian warplanes are reportedly conducting dozens of airstrikes on militants’ positions there.
kabani is the most imporatant town to capture for SAA, if they want to recapture Idlib.Kabani is a mountaintop town overlooking Jisr al shughur………..if true…then this would be the 7th failed attack on kabani with already dozens(way over 200+ dead SAA) and more injured…….even the SOHR mentioned that absolutley no civilians are there only HTS and other jihadis……so it would be time to drop 3 FOAB on These jihadi pricks and cut the bs once and for all.

What rubbish – the Syrian Army has strategically won the war, with Russian aviation assistance, given the Islamist terrorist factions no longer have any strategic capacity to threaten Damascus or the Syrian governing institutions. That the Islamist terrorists and their foreign sponsors wont yield to this basic strategic reality is just the belligerence of bad losers – that, and the fact that the terrorist factions are an entirely expendable and disposable commodity to their foreign sponsors anyways – to be used up accordingly.
There is no time with Turkey to waste. Turkey should immediately call meeting on border issue with own security forces because Turkey has brought America to Syria where Turkey share a long border with America. America will definitely leave Syria but the Kurdish people will be a big threat to Turkey.
Turkey can defend itself from one side only but this would be not an easy task. Turkey must take other regional countries in confidence to jointly remove the US backed new state in the region or to set and negotiate with Kurdish.
All good but you ignore that Turkey is the prime instigator of all the ordure that has happened in Syria. It has also done nothing but gain time by fooling the Russo -Syrians with this trash Idlib deescalation area.Why did Russo-Syria allow them to go to Idlib if it wasn’t to kill them all. No wonder Iran and the Hezbollah have left;they realised Russia is unable or inwilling to win the war decisively . So the Shiites are not willing to lose another Man in a half-hearted war .

Dear Ma, sometimes your posts have tendency to look as if marshal Petain wrote them. Understand your frustration and share it. Indeed IRGC and Hezbollah were present when most needed. For almost two years mentioned were not involved in any major SAA ops. Iran is under huge pressure by asshole govs from EU and US, Hezbollah is paramilitary expecting attack by IAF any moment soon. Lets just accept situation is more or less stabilized. Terrorist are not able to conduct any major offensive since Palmyra v2.0 . I missed complains by Syrians or Iraqis regarding TAF operations aimed against Kurds. So IMHO interests are common regarding Kurds. War is far from over for Syrian people, but at least victory waits them at the end.
You know all these in Idlib are also humans. I don’t know what is their mission but you cannot just say that these people in Idlib are bad guys. There should be a third body to know their main objectives that what they want. If you save the life of one person so it is like that you have saved entire humanity.
We should play a role of reconciliator not an instigator. Idlib, Aleppo, Raqqah, Died Ezzor and Khasaka are cities of united Syria. These bad guys there could one day protect every inch of Syria from internal and external enemies and then they will rebuild entire Syria. They will denounce all espionage and conspiracies against Syria and will play their role to protect all humans that living there in Syria.
