On November 24, Hezbollah’s Military Media released videos of recent missile strikes against the Israeli Defenses Forces (IDF).
The pinpoint strikes targeted the IDF’s Mattat base and several residential buildings occupied by Israeli troops in the al-Manara settlement along the border with Lebanon. Hezbollah fighters used Russian-made Kornet anti-tank guided missiles.
The strikes were among 22 attacks carried out by Hezbollah fighters on November 23. The group said that the attacks were carried out “in response to the crimes committed by the enemy [Israel] against people in Gaza.”
The IDF responded to the attacks by launching a series of air and artillery strikes against alleged targets of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah and its allies have had near-daily exchanges of fire with the IDF along the Israeli-Lebanese border since the October 7 Hamas-led surprise attack from Gaza.
So far, the clashes on the Lebanese front have claimed the lives of six IDF troops, three Israeli civilians, 84 fighters of Hezbollah, two fighters from the Lebanese Resistance Brigades, one fighter from the Lebanese Resistance Regiments, seven fighters from the Hamas Movement, four fighters from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and 12 Lebanese civilians.
The temporary ceasefire in Gaza, which began on November 24, has apparently expanded to the Lebanese front. No attacks by Hezbollah or Israeli strikes have been reported since the beginning of the ceasefire.
