Houthis Recapture Last Saudi-led Coalition Base in Southern Marib Province: Reports

On July 28th, Yemen’s Houthis reportedly had quite a bit of success, recapturing the last base held by the Saudi-led coalition in the south of the west-central Marib Province.

This was reported by the Yemen Press Agency, allied to the Ansar Allah (Houthis).

The success came after heavy clashes between the two sides.

The Houthis also made significant progress in other areas lying among Marib and the Sana’a Province that neighbors it to the west and the Shabwa Province that lies to its south.

On July 27th, Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network reported that a “massive explosion” had rocked an outpost hosting Saudi-led coalition’s forces in Marib.

The blast took place as a result of bombing of the headquarters, it said, but did not provide any further details about the extent of the casualties or damage that the attack might have caused.

The Yemeni army’s new strategic focus on Bayda has also been relatively successful, according to reports.

According to pro-Houthi outlets, the Ansar Allah also launched an “extensive military attack” against the Saudi-led coalition’s bases in the east of Bayda, securing command over many strategic outposts overlooking Marib and Shabwa.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition and the puppet government’s forces claimed that an attack with a booby-trapped drone attack by the Houthi rebels in the central province of al-Bayda was foiled.

“The 19th Infantry Brigade successfully intercepted and destroyed a booby-trapped drone launched by the Houthi militia against the army location in the northern part of al-Bayda,” said a brief statement released by the pro-government Yemeni forces.

“The drone was shot down when trying to target the positions and barracks of the government’s army in the Numan district of al-Bayda,” the statement added.

Large areas of al-Bayda Province witnessed intense armed confrontations between the Yemeni government forces backed by the Saudi-led Arab coalition and the Houthis during the past weeks, leaving many killed or injured from both sides.

The push for a ceasefire is also on-going.

Senior U.S. diplomats are holding talks in the Gulf region in a renewed push for a ceasefire in Yemen as fierce ground battles spread and the Iran-aligned Houthi group resumed cross-border attacks on Saudi Arabia after a brief lull over Muslim holidays.

U.S. special envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking arrived in Saudi Arabia on July 27th following a visit by Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman to Oman, amid stalled efforts for a breakthrough in ending more than six years of war.

Lenderking will discuss “growing consequences” of the Marib offensive that is triggering instability elsewhere and the “urgent need” for Riyadh and the Saudi-backed government to facilitate fuel imports to northern Yemen, the State Department said.

Now, after Yemeni freedom movement against domestic traitors and foreign invaders is gaining ground, now all of a sudden Americans wants to talk peace. All of a sudden. Remembering when Freedom fighters have been loosing, America didn’t bother to “initiate peace talks”. So very well familiar with this. You won’t make another Bosnia or Palestine out of Yemen. No justice, no peace, until every piece of Yemen is liberated. Trust me on this one.

I can’t remember when the Houthis were losing.

TEP

Houthis are ready to deliver karma to the KSA mercenarys … when Marib falls it’s all over for the US-backed terrorists. TEP.

Saudi Barbarian metric of “success” in 2021: “We shot down a Houthi kamikaze drone!”

Give them a lollipop.
