Early on December 4, forces of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) attacked Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions in the southeastern Idlib countryside.

The attack, which carried out by HTS’ Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Army, targeted several positions south of the town of Umm al-Tinah, which is controlled by the terrorist group.

A military commander of HTS told the group’s news network, Iba’a, that ten Syrian service members were killed and 20 others were injured in the attack. These claims were not confirmed by any other source.

The SAA launched an attack on Umm al-Tinah and captured several positions south of the town, a day earlier. The army is expected to make another push towards the town in the upcoming few hours.

Last week, HTS and its Turkish-backed allies captured four towns in southeast Idlib from the SAA. However, the army managed to recapture all the towns within 72 hours.
