The Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled the town of Popasnaya which came under control of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The target of the attack were the headquarters of the Wagner PMC.
The strike was carried out on the night of August 13-14. Around noon on August 14, Ukrainian media reported the attack on the Wagner Group in Popasnaya with US-made HIMARS MLRS. In several hours, the strike was confirmed by the footage from the spot. The use of HIMARS MLRS is yet to be confirmed.
The targeted headquarters of the PMCs located in the basement in an abandoned residential building on Mironovskaya Street 12 on the southwestern outskirts of Popasnaya.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched seven shells. Only one of them reached the target, destroying the headquarters. Another shell reportedly hit an apartment on the first floor of the building.

The number of casualties was not revealed. According to unconfirmed reports, one fighter was killed and several others were wounded.

The attack was carried out a day after the alleged owner of the Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin came in the Donbas region.
Ukrainian media reported that dozens of Russian soldiers were killed and injured, including the head of the Concord holding, Yevgeny Prigozhin. Photos shared by the group after the attack confirmed that the Russian oligarch was not wounded.

First actual Ukranian military success in a couple of weeks (apart from shelling their own POWs and damaging a bridge or two) and so it is shouted from the rooftops by western media and Uke fan boys.
