Units of the Russian Military Police have reportedly increased their presence in the area of Qamishly city following the recent increase of tensions between pro-government forces and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the area.
Late on April 16, a checkpoint of the SDF security forces, Asayish, in northern al-Hasakah was attacked with two hand grenades. One of the grenades exploded inside the checkpoint. The second one was defused by Asayish. No SDF member was killed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Russians actually sided with the SDF if a battle broke out between them and the Butcher Regime. Afterall, the Russkies are annoyed at the regime for starting skirmishes, instigating conflicts, and attacking Turkey and the USA (especially at Conoco)

The Russians are annoyed at the fact that Damascus can’t control some pro-government militias and Iranian PMU’s who can’t follow orders and often pursue an agenda of their own. The rebel coalitions had and have the same problem, which is why they’ve been unsuccessful at overthrowing the Syrian government. The Kurds had the same problem but did a better job making theirs to toe the line.
