On October 22, President Bashar al-Assad inspected frontlines and met with Syrian Army troops in the town of Habit in southern Idlib. Al-Assad denounced Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan as a thief for attacking the northeast of his country and reiterated a pledge to retake all areas lost to Damascus in years of the war, SANA reported.

“Erdogan is a thief and is now stealing our land,” al-Assad said.

Al-Assad also vowed to liberate Greater Idlib from militant groups operating in the area.

“We said and continue to say that the Idlib battle is the core to decisively end chaos and terrorism in all of Syria,” the President said.

and where the fuck is the attack on Idlib????

if possible with no further bs deescalation Agreements and ceasefires…….but sadly to write…this aint gonna happen!!!

grumpy_carpenter

Patience. Syria is now fighting on two fronts without a working economy. Ordinance and fuel are expensive and trained military personel are too valuable to lose by being impetuous. It’s a major advantage to choose the time and place to fight …. let the SAA / Russian decide when and where to defeat their enemy.

FlorianGeyer

Well said and 100% correct.

gustavo

SAA must continue the offensive at Idlib that it was doing before Russia stopped it. Russia must stop pleasing Erdogan.

Saso Mange

Let’s see if Erdogan’s actions actually help Damascus take over the lost territories in the North and North-East. Fingers crossed. Idlib will be easy to take over after Kurdish separatists are dealt with.

I think the answer to your question already seems to be yes. The situation in the east has been transformed with former US bases now in the hands of the SAA.

Harry Smith

Erdogan and Putin are meeting too long right now in Sochi. Looks like negotiations are not easy.

John Marston

Idlib must be liberated from foreign terrorists.

Smith Ricky

God bless you brave heroes

Toronto Tonto

Assad needs to meet his maker .

AJ

I think his parents are dead.

Toronto Tonto

He should go visit them .

Davki

A London educated opticion of Syrian decend looks at a map, through goggles and takes a photo opportunity with men in uniform. Great news, truly stirring! Oh, and he says Greater Idlib will be united with the rest of Syria, Russia willing. A true leader, no doubt.

FlorianGeyer

You really are a fucking idiot hasbara, Davki.

Jaime Alberto GALARZA CASTANED

Nobody can doubt Bashar’s guts. He never fled his country and remained even during its darkest hour. Precisely because he was not groomed to be the leader of Syria – his brother was- is he more to be admired. He is way more courageous than any of the fake leaders of the west and its vassals in Turkey, the Gulf countries, Israel, etc., not to mention way more intelligent and honest.

Davki

Very well… much of the video consists of unverified claims and name-calling. Some facts beyond supposed numbers and funding would be welcome.

Viva Bashar! Viva Syria!

FlorianGeyer

Whenever I have seen President Assad in public with the people he serves during this time of great torment for Syria, I see a man who is genuinely comfortable to be with his people of all faiths, all social groups and all of his allies.

He has no need for flummery and pomp. President Assad has the rare natural authority of a man who was born to lead, without the narcissistic affectation displayed by all to many world leaders.

More importantly, all the loyal Syrians he meets, demonstrate that they are also at ease with this great man, and his loyal and stalwart wife.

Bravo.

Toronto Tonto

And the rest will hang .

Bob

Your deeply homicidal fantasies are a long way from reality – the Libyan model for a foreign sponsored regime change project in Syria has failed. The foreign authors of the project failed to understand the societal makeup, structure and ultimate loyalty of Syrians to their own nation state. Read ’em and weep.

meridius

al-Assad,land belongs to the stronger Assad not to the weak. You better pull your shit together and get to instill some much needed discipline in the SAA if you want to lay claim to any land. Putin is not going to be forever there to hold your back.

You can call me Al

Do shut up, the SAA are heroes.

FlorianGeyer

Strikes me, Meridius , that you should get your latest IDF boyfriend to clean up the shit coming out of your arse.

Anastasis

I agree with President Assad that he is not only a thief but also a war criminal because he has been supplying terrorist organizations since 2011, when the Arab Spring wave began. And while he feeds on terrorist organizations, it accuses its opponents of “terrorists” just like the dirty US policy.
