On April 15, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that it had detained four members of the Syria-based Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terror group in the Kaluga region.
In a statement, the FSB said that at least one of the suspects was plotting a terror attack on local military facilities in Kaluga.
“The FSB stopped the activities of four members of a clandestine cell of the HTS international terrorist organization, which is outlawed in Russia. One of them was hatching a terror attack at the local military facilities at the direction of foreign envoys of the international terrorist organization,” the security service’s statement reads.
While searching the suspects’ place of residence, FSB officers found components and parts of an improvised explosive device (IED). Furthermore, a manual to make IEDs and correspondence with the group’s members in the Middle East were found on a clandestine communications tools of the suspects.
According to the FSB, a criminal case was opened against the suspects on charges of plotting a terror attack on the basis of part 1, article 30 and part 1, article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code.
HTS, who occupies the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib, made several attempts to carry out terrorist attacks in Russia in the last few years.
On 22 January 2021, the FSB foiled a terrorist plot by a member of the terrorist group in the Bashkiria region. Later on April 9 of the same year, the security service thwarted a terrorist attack plotted by two members of the group in the city of Simferopol.
It’s worth noting that terrorists from HTS’ al Tawhid wal Jihad, which was led by Sirajuddin Mukhtarov, were behind the 2017 metro bombing in Russia’s Saint Petersburg. At least 15 people were killed as a result of the terrorist attack.
Despite clear evidence that HTS is still active as an international terrorist group, the main stream media, MSM, is still trying to whitewash the group and its leader, Abu Mohamad al-Julani.
HTS attempt to stage terrorist attacks inside Russia will not go unpunished. The Russian military, who maintains a large, heavily-armed force in Syria, will likely hold the terrorist group accountable for its failed terrorist plot in Kaluga very soon.

Sorry, Mustafa, but these militants usually operate on (far right and religion-based) idealist reasons and not for money (you traffic drugs or guns or even people for money, you don’t do politics). Not just the Muslim extremists as some like to xenophobically claim as “unique” but the Christian and Jewish ones too (and surely from other faiths as well in their contexts but we all know that Christo-fascists and Zio-fascists are extremely dangerous, these three religions are after all all totalitarian-monotheist and the same).

Notice how Russia prevents all these planned terrorists attacks before being implemented. While US hasn’t “prevented” not one single time even though US had intelligence about the perpetrators. I wonder why?

I concur but something I realized recently is how Putin’s rise in 1999 is related to a very similar case to 9-11 self-attacks: the Moscow appartment bombings that were pretext for the most brutal intervention in Chechnya. That may explain why Putin’s Russia never denounced the 9-11 attacks (or others of similar type) as “fake news” but rather went along with them even to approve in the UNSC the NATO invasion of Afghanistan.
Russia has maybe moved somewhat from that in all this time but overall it keeps its discretion on all these Islamist terror matters, as does China as well. What we know we know from non-state (popular, grassroots) agents, some freely operating in the USA (Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth), others (Thierry Meyssan) exiled to Syria (but not Syria itself, I read Sanaa regularly and they keep shallow narratives about their own terror problems).
The world is CRYING for Justice and may that Justice will be a big mercy for those who are being trampled on, who are suffering and who are broken by the unchecked evil so prevalent in the darkness and deceptions of today.
It’s a tough question of how to punish them. They are funded by the usual mob of terrorist States, and short of bombing those countries in retaliation there is not much Russia can do. If they are tortured then terrorists in future will be even harder to catch.
Perhaps build a siberian work camp where this scum can be regularly televised improving Russia while have no hope of parole. They should be kept seperated from each other and the only way out of the whole situation is by committing suicide. When that happen, publish photos of how they killed themselves too as an example of what will happen for others eventually.
