A Russian tank alone demolished Ukrainian stronghold during the battle for the industrial zone in Avdeevka in the DPR. The crew of one tank forced 30 Ukrainian servicemen to flee from their hideout.
The attack was filmed by Russian reconnaissance drone, and the footage, with comments of the crew, was shared by sources of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
The video shows Russian tank breaking into the industrial zone and starts shelling Ukrainian hideout with close fire. According to the crew, the very first shot destrpyed part of the building and forced the Ukrainian group to retreat.
“The grenade launcher and machine gunner were lured out and destroyed from the first shot. Then, all of them began fleeing from the buildings. None of them left. After the departure, about 30 AFU servicemen ran away, it was much easier to take control of these positions,” one of the tank crew member said.
The crew commander noted that preliminary aerial reconnaissance played an important role in the operation.
“They gave us all the trump cards in our hands, plus an air fire adjustment,” the crew commander says. – “The gunner and I understood each other without words. He didn’t see much through the scope, everything is lured at point-blank range, he coordinated fire following my voice.”
The UAV operator explains that he flew along the tank route at the lowest possible altitude in advance and observed all obstacles, trenches etc. and where the tank crew could evacuate if needed.
“We worked from a distance of 40-50 meters,” he says. – “After the remains of the building burned down, our infantry entered the positions without firing a single shot. The tank destroyed them all.”
