On March 18, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that their fighters had repelled attacks by Turkish forces in the northern Raqqa courtside.

Both attacks took place in the outskirts of the town of Ain Issa, which was shelled by Turkish forces on March 16 and 17. The shelling didn’t result in any human losses.

The first attack targeted the village of Saida west of Ain Issa. According to the SDF, six Turkish-backed militants were killed and a vehicle was destroyed. The second attack targeted the town of Mu’alk to the east. An unknown number of militants also killed by the SDF.

The situation around Ain Issa has been unstable for a few months now. Turkish forces attack the town’s outskirts on a regular basis.

The Russian Military Police and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) maintain a network of posts around Ain Issa to monitor the situation there. Last week, the army deployed reinforcements, including heavy weapons, in the region.

Last year, Russia warned the SDF of a Turkish plan to attack Ain Issa. The Kurdish-led group was asked to handover the town to the SAA in order to foil Ankara’s plan. However, the request was rejected.

The recent attacks on Ain Issa confirm that Turkey and its proxies are still planning to capture town which is located on the M4 highway. The strategic highway links al-Hasakah with Raqqa and Aleppo.

Russia is not going to allow Turkey and its proxies to capture Ain Issa and disjoint the M4 connection between Aleppo Hasakah, they have heavy weapons and helicopters plus air control to defeat their attempts.

the best solution for turkey, syria and russia is if turkey gives up any hope on engulfing parts of syria and instead together with syria make short thrift with sdf, pkk and ypg, all three in the jew’s pockets and can easily be spared. the jews on the other hand, having caused the syrian war must be obliterated to kingdom come!!

The Turkish admin will get nowhere throwing terrorists at the town. The proxy army has failed big time and is hemmed into a small part of Syria. If it wasn’t for the Turkish admin backing terrorist groups there, Idlib would be free from from its hell.

The Turkish admin seem happy for their proxy army to attack the highway whilst they parade up and down it in the day.
