On May 21, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and several pro-government factions continued their operations against ISIS cells in the eastern Homs countryside.
The al-Quds Brigade, a pro-government Palestinian group, released a video showing its fighters conducting a combing operation in the desert, where hundreds of terrorists are taking shelter. Clashes with ISIS terrorists can be seen in the video.
In the last few days, the SAA and the al-Quds brigade carried out several similar operations in eastern Homs in order to counter the threat of ISIS. The National Defense Forces (NDF) also deployed fresh reinforcements in the region.
Despite these efforts, ISIS cells are still able to carry out attacks in eastern Homs. On May 21, the terrorists ambushed and killed a Syrian service member near the town of al-Sukhnah.
Government forces’ operations in eastern Homs are likely meant to drain the remaining resources of ISIS cells. The terrorists, who are numbered in the few hundreds, are relying on the desert’s limited resources.
Surprising facebook hasn’t declared this footage a violation of the moderate headchoppers’ human rights; but they surely will as soon as ISIS retreats back to the US base in al-Tanf and change into FSA freedom fighter refugee costumes.
