Intense Israeli strikes targeted the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, over the night of October 5 and 6, causing casualties.

Prior to the strikes, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) ordered civilians to evacuate three buildings in the Borj al-Brajneh neighborhood which is a part of the southern Beirut suburbs of Dahieh, a known stronghold of Hezbollah. Colonel Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman, said that civilians should move at least 500 meters away from the buildings.

The IDF later announced in a brief statement that it struck several targets of Hezbollah, including weapon depots and other infrastructure.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, two people were killed and at least 18 others were wounded in the Israeli strikes on Dahieh.

Following the strikes, the IDF said that several drones launched from Lebanon were shot down by its air defenses before crossing into Israel airspace.

Two projectiles were also launched from Lebanon, setting off warning sirens between the port city of Haifa and the settlement of Hadera to the south. The IDF later said that two “surface-to-surface missiles” were intercepted by its air defenses. Hebrew media reported that the projectiles were precision-guided ballistic missiles. Hezbollah has not yet claimed responsibility.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, with Hezbollah launching attacks in support of the Palestinian enclave. Israel escalated its attacks on Lebanon starting from September 17 and on September 27 it assassinated the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nassrallah. The IDF officially announced the launch of a ground operation in Lebanon on September 30.

All in all, the confrontation has so far resulted in 26 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as well as the deaths of at least 31 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, over 2,000 people have been killed, including more than 500 members of Hezbollah.

two things! russia should provide missilrs that can rtake ot the f35s and also radars that can detect stealth planes. that would put an end to the jews dominance of the air and level the playing field. and if russia prefers to sit this one out, they should post haste provide kinzahl hyperzonic missilesto hezbolla and the iraqi resistance and iran of ourse, not just one but hundreds now that ukraine war is more ir less over.

cromwell

problem is when the zionist gangsters attack syria they have used lebanese airspace they don’t over fly syria, i said years ago lebanon should have built a integrated air defence system they didn’t now they are paying for it, in the vietnam war the us paid a high price in aircraft when they were bombing the country they lost thousands of aircraft, i think the iranians should hit israel again with more and bigger missiles it’s the only language the bastards understand.

zman

s-300s can reach that far…if allowed. who cares where they are when the are hit. but all interceptors are for incoming missiles, not planes. this is stop gap tactic, no good for the long run and still lets some through. if russia is truly mad, let syria take out idf planes. better yet, send message of your own and drop a couple yourself. sooner or later it will benefit russia. in the mean time, help save arab ally lives.

zman

letting israel have their way with their planes looks like choreographed bullshit and does not change a thing, except allow israel to attack and kill your allies. imagine if russia used this tactic in ukr. russians would be dropping like flies and ukr would still have an air force. why is this no good in ukr, but is ok in syria? this just encourages israel. saying bad things about them and pointing fingers does nothing.

hasbarats

israel is a wild animal that needs to be put down. the jews have de-legitimized zionism. you cannot walk back this level of insanity. its like inviting your neighbors over for dinner and serving a grenade for dinner. that’s how you wish to live, that is how you will die.

cromwell

correct, it’s a rabid dog even biting it’s master.

zman

this is exactly why i said they need to level those airfields. sending messages is for conversation. quit sending messages. do what israel is doing, wiping out enemy strongholds. eliminate all airfields, screw the rest. we knew that no matter what, if airfields were left in usable condition, they would continue the slaughter. this is war, not a mr nice guy competition. those same airfields will be used against iran as well and they will continue to slaughter lebanese and palestinians.

do not take the us bait and merely slap israel once or twice. quit telegraphing attacks. we know why this is done, fear of us involvement. realize that they will do what they are going to do anyway. do not show launchers in daylight, do not send messages, send death and destruction, it’s all they understand. eliminate airbases completely since you can and save lives. put 50 missiles to each one, then hit infrastructure.
