Iran Releases Drone Footage Of U.S. Guided Missile Destroyer In Indian Ocean

File image.

On October 3, the Iranian military released surveillance footage showing an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer of the United States Navy operating in the Indian Ocean.

The footage were taken by an Ababil-5 drone that kept the U.S. destroyer under surveillance for around 24 hours as it was sailing in the northern part of the Indian Ocean. The drone reportedly took off from a base located on the Southern Iranian island of Jask.

The Ababil-5 drone, which was unveiled last year, was designed for reconnaissance, surveillance and combat missions. The drone has an operational range of 480 kilometers and can be armed with up to four precision-guided munitions.

With an overall length of 153.9 to 155.3 meters, displacement ranging from 8,300 to 9,700 tons, and weaponry including over 90 missiles, the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers are larger and more heavily armed than many previous U.S. classes of guided-missile warships.

The Iranian military keeps U.S. warships in the Persian Gulfs and nearby waters under tight surveillance. Tensions between the two have been rising.

In July, the Pentagon deployed F-35 and F-16 fighter jets, along with several warships and additional marines to the Middle East, in order to deter Iranian naval forces who seized two tankers in the gulf earlier this year.

irán sleduje darebácky štát usa, tak to je sila. a usa s tým už nič nezmôžu, musia to strpieť. inak by hrozilo, že by irán poslal na nich zopár svojich rakiet. ha, ha, ha … a tie by svoj cieľ istotne zasiahli. irán dnes už vlastní hypersonické balistické strely, ktoré usa nedokážu zastaviť.
