The Iraqi Armed Forces and the Peshmerga Forces have agreed a plan of the liberation of the city of Mosul, located in the north of the country, from the Islamic State terrorist group, the France24 TV-channel reported, citing head of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani.

“Commanders of the Peshmerga and the Iraqi Army have conducted a series of meetings. They agreed on a military plan and the role of each of the side,” the TV-channel quoted the words of Barzani. According to the politician, the city can be liberated by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, an understanding between Shiite and Sunni military units, the al-Hashd al-Shaabi and the al-Hashd al-Watani, which also participate in battles against IS terrorists, still has not been reached. Barzani stressed that this understanding is necessary.
