On December 9, Iraq Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced the end of the war against ISIS in Iraq during the International Media Conference in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. Al-Abadi said that the Iraqi Army fully secured the Syrian-Iraqi border and the al-Jazeera region in western Iraq.
“Our forces are in complete control of the Iraqi-Syrian border and I therefore announce the end of the war against Daesh [ISIS],” al-Abadi said, according to the Qatari al-Jazeera TV.
Meanwhile, the media wing of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) announced the Iraqi Army and the PMU liberated 6500km2 of the al-Jazeera region on December 9. Iraqi government forces also secured 55km of the Syrian-Iraqi border between Tal al-Sufuk and al-Qa’im, and liberated the border posts of Khabur, al-Shbiliyah, Umm al-Rus al-Jazeera, Zin al-Qus, Tausin and al-Shiham, according to the source.
Iraqi Army Major General Abdul Amir Yar Allah, commander of the military campaign for the liberation of Nineveh Province, also confirmed that the Iraqi Army and the PMU fully liberated the al-Jazeera region in western Iraq.
“The [Iraqi] army units and the brigades of the PMU were able to liberate the al-Jazeera region between Nineveh and Anbar with a support from the Iraqi Air Force … More than 90 villages, and more than 16,000km2 were successfully cleared [from ISIS] … By this we completed the liberation of the whole Iraqi territory from the claws of ISIS’ terrorist gangs,” Maj. Gen. Yar Allah said.
The liberation of the al-Jazeera region and the Syrian-Iraqi border marks the end of ISIS in Iraq as a military power. However, some experts believe that the terrorist organization will activate many of its sleeper cells all over Iraq in the near future in an attempt to destabilize the country again.
The greedy US terrorist filth and ISISrael will find a way to stay, most likely in the bases they alraedy operate across the border in SDF-occupied Syria. There’s no reason for Western garbage to be present in Iraq anymore, at least not in government-held areas; the US must at the very least be publicly asked by Baghdad to leave Iraq for good, so Syria-Iraqi-Iranian talks on how to deal with Kurdish infestation can begin.
The US just sent troops to the route that Iraq will use to truck Kirkuk crude oil to a refinery in Iran. A clear act of intimidation and potentially one that will result in use of military force against Iraq for daring to defy the wishes of its US overlords. The US claims it does not occupy Iraq, but it still believes it control’s Iraqi borders. I don’t think Iraq intends to get US approval of any trade or commerce across its borders with any of its neighbors. They didn’t seem too happy about the US using proxy forces to ‘claim’ Iraq’s Syrian and Turkish borders, and I doubt they’re going to ‘obey’ the US regarding their Iranian border. This one will be interesting.
Congratulation iraq army and coalition!
