Pro-Iranian forces in Iraq have been waging a low-scale insurgency against the US-led coalition since the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of the Popular Mobilization Units, and Iran’s Quds Force Commander Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani in early 2020.

The main goal of this insurgency is push US forces out from Iraq. In November, pro-Iranian forces issued a final warning to the Washington, promising it a heated battle if it does not pull out its troops from the country before the end of December 31.

Currently, the US is working to rebrand its fairly large military presence in Iraq as a “training mission”. Early in December, Iraq’s National Security Advisor announced that the US-led coalition had ended its combat missions in the country.

Then, the battle, swift and merciless, will be taken to the cock-eyed Choose in the south. Even with their Samson Option threat, there is nothing that will save them.
