On July 29, ISIS fighters launched a new attack on several positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). The UK-based monitoring group said that heavy clashes between the SAA and ISIS are ongoing.
From its side, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq reported that ISIS fighters shelled several positions of the SAA and its allies along the western bank of the Euphrates River with SPG-9 73mm recoilless rifles. Several positions were reportedly damaged as a result of the shelling.
This is the second attack of ISIS on the SAA’s positions in southern Deir Ezzor within the last 24 hours. A day earlier, the terrorist group’s fighters crossed the Euphrates River and launched an attack on several positions of SAA around the towns of Hasrat and al-Majaudah.
These attacks are likely a desperate attempt of the besieged fighters of ISIS on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River to reach the Homs desert, where hundreds of fighters and commanders of the terrorist group are hiding.

This group “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR)” is in London not in the ground in Syria, they are western supported jihadi propaganda site, why even give these limey wahhabi jokers the time of day in what they claim.
These ISIS fighters drove unnoticed right through the occupying SDF/US-SOF forces in east Dier Ezzore, to reach the eastern bank of Euphrates – with a pick-up truck loaded with 60 kg SPG-9 and crates of ammunition shells…
