Late on July 24, ISIS terrorists raided a key post of the Iraqi military’s First Division in the western province of al-Anbar.

The post, known as “Badir-6,” is located in a desert area to the west of the town of Rutba, near the border with Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

ISIS terrorists raided the post, set it on fire and clashed with Iraqi military reinforcements before withdrawing back to their hideout. During the raid, the terrorists destroyed a thermal surveillance camera and looted military communication systems along with some weapons.

According to Iraqi sources, two soldiers and a fighter of the Tribal Mobilization Forces were killed in the attack. One of ISIS terrorists was also killed.

The desert of al-Anbar is a known stronghold of ISIS in Iraq. To this day, the terrorist group maintains a fairly large presence there.

Iraqi government forces have been chasing ISIS cells in al-Anbar and other parts of the country nonstop. Despite this, the group’s terrorists are still carrying out successful hit-and-run attacks every now and then.

The Iraqi military needs to stop playing into so called “isis” hands who could easily be western special forces.

Poor perimeter defense, which should have been layered using several technologies would have prevented any Iraqi losses.

Because the ‘ISIS’ militants can disappear across, and be resupplied by foreign terror sponsors (helo drops), on the Saudi side of Iraq-KSA border in the al-Anbar area.
