On April 13, Hezbollah launched suicide drones at the northern settlement of Hanita and shelled a near by forest with rockets and artillery.
In two separate statements, the group said that the drones targeted a building in Hanita occupied by Israeli troops, while the shelling targeted gatherings of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the nearby forest. Hebrew media confirmed that the settlement was hit by drones and other projectiles, and said that at least one reservist was seriously wounded.
Hezbollah announced in six other statements that its fighters shelled the Ruwaisat Al-Alam site, targeted houses occupied by Israeli troops in the settlements of Even Menachem and Shtula, struck surveillance equipment in the al-Rahib site and targeted gatherings of the IDF in the Addather forest and the Pranit barracks.
The attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted in its statements.
In response to the attacks, the IDF said that its fighter jets struck Hezbollah targets in four different areas of southern Lebanon.
The targets included buildings used by the group in the towns of Houla and Bayt Lif, and two Hezbollah command centers in the towns of Odaisseh and Taybeh, according to the IDF, which said that troops also opened fire at an area near the town of Rmeish to “remove a threat.”
Lebanese media didn’t report any civilian casualties and Hezbollah didn’t announce any losses after the recent Israeli strikes.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.
It’s worth noting that the border clashes have so far resulted in eight civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 400 people have been killed, including 256 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 70 civilians.
