The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on July 12 that it struck a post of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the town of Tasil in the western Daraa countryside overnight, in response to a rocket attack.
According to Hebrew media, the rocket fired from Syria struck an open area in the southern part of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, causing no injuries.
The rocket attack was the latest in a series of strikes targeting Golan which began after the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip last October. The very limited strikes appear to be more a protest move by Palestinian armed factions in Syria.
Syrian media confirmed that three shells fired by the IDF hit an SAA post near Tasil, which is located some five kilometers from the Golan front, without causing any losses.
This was the IDF’s second attack against SAA positions in southern Syria in less than two days. On July 10, Israeli tanks and artillery shelled a key site of the SAA known as the Diriyah Regiments in the southern countryside of al-Qunitra. At the time, the IDF said that the attack was carried out in response to violations of the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement which concluded the Yom Kippur War.
The agreement in question prevents the SAA from operating in a United Nations-observed buffer zone on the Syrian side of the front.
Tensions rose between Israel and Syria after the outbreak of the war in Gaza. The IDF has escalated strikes against the country since last October, hitting SAA sites and other targets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its affiliates.
To prevent further escalation, Russian forces in Syria established a series of observation posts along the Golan front right after the war started in Gaza.

instead of parroting idf prpgnda about some ‘1974 agreement’, sf should point out that unsc resolution 497 (adopted unanimously 17 december 1981) declared that the ‘israeli golan heights law’, which annexed the golan heights, is “null and void and without international legal effect” and called on israel to rescind its actions.
under international law the golan heights belongs to syria – period!!
jews have become an endagered species. their enemies are in the billions and they are only some millions. they’ll be torn apart and evaporate into oblivion, cause thats, what the chosen ones normally do.
of course but when has the jews ever accepted international law, genocide – sure why not. operating the one and only concentration camp where two mill palestinians live under conditions similar to ravensbruck, all supported by the congress and pentagon and the white house and millions of jews in europe and in the dysunited states of a and and. close to 40000dead in the jews latest ethnical cleansing operation!
according to ‘the l a n c e t’, 5th july, ‘it is not implausible’ that the true number could be ‘186,000 or even more’.
when the jews find that hezbollah is a tough nut to.crack, the ever criminal scumbags change thevdirection and attack syria and the syrian golanbheights. only serial cowards work that way. the jews must be stopped, seriously evicted from palestine even it means that every one of them will be dead!
