The Institute of World Policy published the results of the unique survey on November 4th.
Eight member countries of the EU: Spain, Italy, Sweden, Poland, France, Germany, the UK and the Netherlands were part of this survey regarding Russia – Ukraine conflict.
Part of the results of the survey is people’s associations with Ukraine; they are mainly: war, poverty and Russia of course.
Also a third of the inquired consider that it’s necessary that Ukraine is provided with a EU membership to get the protection it needs due to “Russian threat”. Regarding this topic, French are skeptical when it comes to Ukrainian prospects in Europe, British appear to be the most indifferent.
Besides the cited associations with Ukraine, people taking part in the survey were asked about pros and cons of Ukraine’s addition to the EU.
This study is a continuation of a previous sociological survey made by IWP about people’s attitudes and perceptions about Ukraine.
Surprisingly, or not?, the survey attempts to show common people opinion due to Russian efforts to disrupt unity in the region according to UNITER (Ukraine National Initiatives to Enhance Reforms) project funded by USAID (United States Agency for International Development).
