Kiev Regime Continues To Promote Nuclear Terror

In recent days, the Kiev regime has intensified attacks against the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). On April 7, a massive attack with kamikaze drones targeted nuclear facilities, bringing danger to the plant. Moscow has been reporting such attacks as “nuclear terrorism”, accusing Ukrainian forces of running the risk of a nuclear leak as blackmail against Russia. The reality of the region has already been witnessed even by UN observers, but international organizations remain silent in the face of Ukrainian crimes.

The bombings of Kiev against ZNPP are nothing new. Almost daily there are Ukrainian attacks against the plant and the surrounding region. However, the situation seems to be escalating dangerously in recent days. On the 7th, three ZNPP employees were injured after Ukrainian drones hit the facilities. Several sensitive points of the plant were hit in the bombings, which shows how there is a deliberate action by the Kiev regime to cause a nuclear accident. Despite the violence of the incursions, the radiation levels are normal and under control.

“The Zaporozhye nuclear power station has been subjected to an unprecedented series of drone attacks, a direct threat to the safety of the plant (…) [Fortunately] The radiation levels at the plant and the surrounding area have not changed,” a Russian nuclear agency’s (ROSATOM) statement reads.

Interestingly, the attack occurred shortly after observers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) left the region, after completing yet another security inspection. Members of the agency have already witnessed several incidents like these, during which not only the plant’s employees and Zaporozhye residents were at risk, but so were international observers themselves.

In a declaration on the 8th, the IAEA strongly condemned the attack and classified the incident as a serious escalation in the conflict. The agency emphasized that it is impossible to have any strategic benefit from an attack on a nuclear plant, with the consequences of this type of maneuver being negative for all sides.

“This is a major escalation of the nuclear safety and security dangers facing the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. Such reckless attacks significantly increase the risk of a major nuclear accident and must cease immediately (…) Although the damage at unit 6 has not compromised nuclear safety, this was a serious incident that had the potential to undermine the integrity of the reactor’s containment system (…) No one can conceivably benefit or get any military or political advantage from attacks against nuclear facilities,” Rafael Grossi, director general of the AIEA, said in an official statement.

However, as on other occasions, Grossi and the IAEA refused to formally accuse Ukraine of the attack. Even being in the region and clearly seeing the positions from which the missiles and drones that hit the nuclear facilities come from, international observers continue to refuse to speak openly which side is responsible for the terror in Zaporozhye. This is intolerable, as without public international condemnation, Kiev will not be pressured to stop the violence.

Since 2022, Russia has been the side that has invited international observers and protected them during inspection work at the plant. No bombings against the region originate from Russian positions – which seems obvious and logical, since Zaporozhye is an area controlled by Russia and has already been formally reintegrated into the Federation. Foreigners in the region obviously know the reality and know that Kiev is to blame for the attacks, but international organizations appear to be co-opted by a Western bias that prevents them from taking a firm stance against the NATO proxy regime.

Without external pressure, Kiev continues its attacks. New drone strikes were reported in the days following the brutal attack on the 7th. Bombings are expected to increase even further, considering that, in the face of failure on the front lines, terrorism is one of the few remaining mechanisms of war left for Kiev. The regime is simply trying to coerce Russia into stopping its operation through nuclear blackmail.

So far, no nuclear leaks have occurred in Zaporozhye. Nuclear power plants are difficult to destroy. The facilities are extremely strong and resist heavy artillery and aviation attacks. However, the constant repetition of attacks could lead to, if not to collapse, at least partial damage to the plant in the near future. If there is a nuclear leak, a major humanitarian tragedy could occur, considering that ZNPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, with high risks in the event of a failure in its normal functioning.

All that remains for the Russians is to use military force to prevent the worst-case scenario. In order to neutralize the Ukrainian military and stop attacks on ZNPP, Moscow will certainly intensify bombings against Ukrainian infrastructure in the near future.
