Despite the Russian-American agreement to cease strikes on energy facilities for 30 days starting March 18, the Kiev regime has continued its reckless attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure. In a blatant violation of the established understanding, Ukrainian forces carried out two separate strikes on Russian energy facilities over the past day.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that on April 7 at 09:47 a.m. local time, a Ukrainian attack UAV damaged the 750 kV Kursk NPP – Metallurgicheskaya high-voltage power line in the Kursk region, causing a forced shutdown. Earlier that morning, at 09:30 a.m. local time, another Ukrainian drone struck the 35 kV Novogoryevka substation in the Zaporizhia region, damaging critical transformer equipment.
Notably, the Kiev regime appears to be deliberately targeting smaller energy facilities in border regions, likely attempting to avoid major public outcry while still pursuing its destabilization strategy. These attacks demonstrate Ukraine’s disregard for diplomatic agreements and its continued escalation of hostilities against civilian infrastructure.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has condemned these unlawful actions, emphasizing that such strikes pose serious risks to regional energy security and civilian welfare. Moscow reserves the right to take appropriate measures to protect its critical infrastructure and ensure the safety of its citizens. In ten days, major energy facilities across Ukraine are likely to come under devastating Russian attacks.
