Clashes on the Lebanon front continued on October 25, with Hezbollah launching attacks and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carrying out strikes.
In a statement, Hezbollah said that its fighters attacked a main battle tank of the IDF at the Avivim barracks in the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms and Kfar Shouba Hills with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), killing and wounding its crew. The IDF confirmed that a tank was targeted close to Avivim, but claimed that there were no injuries in the attack.
Hezbollah said in another statement that its fighters destroyed military equipment at the Hanita naval site, also located in occupied Lebanese territory, with several ATGMs.
A salvo of rockets was later launched from southern Lebanon at northern Israel, with sirens sounding in the town of Kiryat Shmona. The IDF said that four rockets landed in an open area near the city. No casualties or material losses were reported.
In addition, Hezbollah’s Military Media released video footage showing an attack that targeted Khirbet al-Manara site and Baranit barracks a day earlier. The footage shows ATGMs and mortars being fired at the two positions. The attack caused a large fire at Baranit.
From its side, the IDF said that it had struck two cells of Hezbollah which were preparing to launch attacks. One of the cells was armed with an ATGM launcher. Lebanese media also reported artillery strikes on southern Lebanon.
In different statements released throughout the day, Hezbollah acknowledged that five of its fighters were killed by Israeli fire. No other casualties were reported on the Lebanese side.
Hezbollah appears to be preparing for more escalation on the Lebanon front. On October 25, the group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah met with Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri and Islamic Jihad chief Ziad al-Nakhala.
“The leaders tackled latest developments since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and the events that followed on all fronts, including the confrontations across the border between Lebanon and the occupied Palestine,” Lebanese state media Al-Manar quoted a statement by Hezbollah as saying, referring to the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas fighters that killed at least 1,400 people in Israel and prompted a retaliation that in turn killed more than 5,700 people in Gaza.
“Sayyed Nasrallah assessed with Nakhale and al-Arouri the international and regional stances as well as steps to be taken by the Axis of Resistance in this critical phase in order to achieve an all-out victory and to stop the brutal attack on the oppressed people of Gaza and the West Bank,” the statement added.
Since the October 7 attack, Hezbollah and its allies have had near-daily exchanges of fire with Israeli forces along the Israeli-Lebanese border.
As of October 26, the clashes on the Lebanon front have claimed the lives of seven Israelis -six soldiers and one civilian- 41 fighters of Hezbollah, two fighters from the Lebanese Resistance Brigades, seven Palestinian fighters -three from the Hamas Movement and four from the Islamic Jihad- and four Lebanese civilians -two elderly men and two journalists-.

iran pretty much backed itself into a corner. they said numerous times they would get involved directly in case of an all-out invasion of the gaza strip by the idf. so what happens if they don’t respond now? i guess that is still better than the fake muslim saudis? who’s true religion is the worshipful loyalty to money and self preservation above all else
i think iran has more options than most. israel is bogged down on 3 fronts, the us is bogged down in ukraine, trying to defend israel while still needing to keep an eye on china & taiwan. add to that there’s no speaker of the house, migrants are crossing the us border at record numbers some of whom might be islamic terrorists, an attack on the homeland has increased. if iran went for nukes the us & israel could do nothing
