The Russian army is advancing in different directions, the Ugledar direction is not an exception. In recent days, the Russian military managed to expand their zone of control and achieve important tactical victories.

According to reports from the frontlines, the Russian army destroyed Ukrainian defense in the fields north of Ugledar. In the first days of August, the Russian troops approached and cut the road between Ugledar and Mariinka. It was an important road used for the military supplies of the Ukrainian garrison in the area, including in Ugledar. As a result of Russian advance, one of two main roads used for the supply of the Ukrainian garrison in Ugledar was cut off.

The road was cut in the area south of the town of Konstantinovka. The victory was confirmed by the footage of the Russian flag installed on a destroyed Ukrainian vehicle.

Meanwhile, the Russian army pushing the front to the west repelling the Armed Forces of Ukraine from their remaining military positions in the fields east of the road.

Another Russian victory was achieved nearby. In the end of July, the Russian army approached the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka. In recent day, Russian assault groups broke through Ukrainian defense and entered the town. As a result of heavy battles, they gained a foothold on the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka.

Before the assault, Russian forces pounded Ukrainian military positions with artillery. Russian reconnaissance units attacked observation posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The main assault was launched by Russian stormtroopers covered by armored vehicles and tanks, while Russian artillery continued shelling. Russian aerial reconnaissance is revealing Ukrainian military positions, covering them with heavy fire, supporting assault operations.

On the other hand, the Armed Forces of Ukraine complicate Russian supplies with massive drone strikes. Konstantinovka was turned into another heavily fortified stronghold, where heavy urban battles begin.

The Ukrainian garrison in Konstantinovka is also threatened by Russian advance from the northern direction. In recent day, the Russian troops advanced along the road and expanded their zone of control south of the village of Pobeda.

Thus, the garrison of the AFU in Konstantinovka may be surrounded from three directions in the nearest future. At the same time, Russian advance threatens Ukrainian grouping in Ugledar, on the outskirts of which heavy battles continue for months. The Ukrainian military command is sending reinforcement to the area in an attempt to stop Russian offensive. In the case of success, Russian tactical gains may soon bring strategic victories.

The goal of the Russian army is to take control of the settlements located along the route to Uspenovka located to the west, where the last Ukrainian supply route is passing to the toen of Kurahovo. In order to achieve a success, the Russian military has to pass through three main Ukrainian strongholds in the area, including Konstantinovka and nearby settlements, the villages of Vodyanoe and Bogoyavlenka to the south. Control of these settlement will allow to surround the main Ukrainian castle in the city of Ugledar. Moreover, the upcoming rainy weather will complicate any military supplies through the field areas.

ugledar soon to be renamed ugly udar.

i remember buying a pack of cigarettes in moscow back in the 90’s called “udarniy otvet’ (retaliatory strike). that sounded way more serious than a pack of lucky strikes. ‘never march on moscow if you know what’s good for you’ i believe was the message. just ask any ukrainan.
