A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- A Taliban delegation led by the group’s deputy leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar came in Pakistan to discuss the Afghan peace process with Pakistani officials;
- Taliban attacked the center of Dehyak district in central Ghazni province, destroying the district government compound;
- Juma Gul Hemat was appointed as the new Kabul police chief after the previous chief of police was dismissed due to the deterioration of the security situation in the city.
