A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- The US-Taliban negotiations round started in Doha on December 7 was paused following a Taliban attack on the Bagram air base that;
- At least 23 soldiers were killed in an attack by a group of Taliban infiltrators in the Qarabagh district, Ghazni province;
- An IED explosion killed at least 10 people dead and wounded 6 others on the road between the provinces of Daikundi and Ghazni;
- The Taliban attacked positions of government forces in the districts of Baraki Barak and Azrah of Logar province. The group claimed that 10 soldiers were killed and 3 others were wounded.
