Who is calculating the amount of Taliban killed and wounded? These numbers remind of the “body count” BS from the US during the war in southeast Asia during the 1960s and ’70s. I predict the Taliban will eventually be sitting in Kabul during their bloody victory celebrations while the foreigners and their collaborators, sympathizers and stooges are fleeing for their lives.
Body count was a McNamara driven data exercise to show the US was winning the war. Everything he did when in charge of the Vietnam war was data , data , data from his business background . He developed logistical systems for the US airforce during WW2 and statistical systems for troops and supplies. He fought wars by data. He then revamped Ford Motor Company by similar methods. What his body count data didn’t show was the number of dead Viet Cong / Nth Vietnamese was always less than the birth rate so replacements coming were always to be more than those killed.
