This map shows the current military situation in Kharkiv Region in eastern Ukraine. In the recent weeks, the situation in the region remained relatively stable as the most intense military actions took place in Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The Russians already liberated the entire territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic from Kyiv’s forces and are now preparing for the final advance to push pro-Kyiv units out of the northwestern part of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Therefore, it is likely that in the next few weeks the situation around Kharkiv will remain same, without significant changes.

It’s highly probable that Russia will return to Kharkiv. Z-elensky’s security apparatus is very much under strain as the natural distribution of allegiances following the western coup plays out in the continuing civil muted war. There are significant parts of Ukrainian society and security services, who either are against the Kiev Nazi regime or against the plan to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian for western benefit. Kharkiv is well represented in the camp that supports Russia in this conflict, despite brutal crackdowns and threats by the Kiev Nazis.
If Russia can push towards Dnipro and Odessa, it will force the Ukrainians to redeploy many of the Kharkiv units. If Odessa and Dnipro are taken, Kharkiv is in and indefensible position, there is no current reason to assault it, it serves the Russians by consuming a large portion of the Ukranian military, supplies and equipment.
You’d be surprised to learn that Kharkiv is at a large degree “purified” of pro–Russians by now, due to the very slow pace of the opperation and the constant bombardment it’s under.
