AUF were using rail as last organized transport option east of Dnieper. Russia bombed the key rail station and rail control hub being used to transport AUF reinforcements into Donbass region few days ago. It’s not 1941, rail lines are VERY vulnerable in a modern conflict zone.
Kharkov will be a long fight, best to keep it encircled right now.

They don’t need a full encirclement, they need to take a central point in order to dominate the area. Once enough attrition on Ukraine, then they will have enough men.

After Syria, that doesn’t seem to be how the Russian military work (to me); they continue to split the opposition into smaller and smaller groups and then when the time is right; just take one group at a time – they made a mistake in Syria in letting the remaining living groups move out and again and gang up in IDLIB, they are not making the same mistake again – but that was the past .. a long time ago – but I hope they make their point here and eliminate all the Nazis .. down to the last one.

The Russian’s have switched up strategy. They want to draw the AUF and its reserves out of hiding in cities and into open of Donbass basin. To destroy enemy AUF forces in the field in a war of maneuver, not get bogged down in war of attrition storming cities. Once AuF are out in field, RuAF stand-off air to ground missiles and Kalibre cruise missiles come to the party.
Russians have more than enough numbers, Russia has been playing with kit gloves so far, they need to reinforce Belgorod, as that border region can be a staging area wherein they can simply reinforce and apply pressure once more.
Hell will be let loose if the UAF actually tries to move into Russian territory, it will be a nightmare for them and basically all other forces on Ukraine’s side fighting in that region.

Is there any information on where the Russian reinforcements are amassing and where the Nazi troops are? Scott Ritter said there are around 100k Nazi troops in the east but didn’t mention the numbers in specific areas.

Tbh, the young right wingers, and even many rural americans are actually on the side of Russia, they know the score, many of them think other americans flying the Ukraine flag is just a replacement for the LGBT flag minus all colors except blue and yellow.

The entirety of the belgorod border region is a reinforcement point and can be used to re-apply pressure to the pincer at any time, easier to let the UAF move in and then slam them once they’re out in open ground.
Fighting house to house in Kharkov is a horrible idea right now, not necessary, however probably best to destroy any bridges leading in from the west into the city to prevent any further advancement from UAF forces.
Kharkov is a late game victory as it will require special attention, and it will be far easier to take when the UAF is desperate and doesn’t know where to send its last reserves. Right now it needs to be encircled and picked at, the Kiev regime would have absolutely -loved- to have lured RuAF forces into Kiev for some nice Fallujah-style quagmire fighting, they would love to lure the RuAF fighters into Kharkov as well, but that’s not going to happen.
Mariupol was a systematic destruction, it was small enough that was possible, however Kharkov is bigger, it will require more attention and reducing reinforcement numbers by drawing them out is far preferable than to fighting them inside the city.
It does not matter if Kharkov is not taken immediately, blitzing that place and then not being able to hold it is just a foolish move.
