A brief overview of the recent developments in Libya:
- The Italian Navy’s support vessel Gorgona reportedly returned to the Tripoli port;
- Government of National Accord (GNA) forces attacked positions of the Libyan National Army (LNA) in the area of al-Aqrabiyah. Clashes are ongoing;
- The GNA resumed attempts to capture the town of Tarhuna from the LNA. Airstrikes by pro-GNA aircraft were reported;
- The LNA’s warplanes bombed positions of the GNA near Gharyan.
The GNA are flogging a dead horse. They are running out of influence and land. The GNA have done nothing for the Libyan people but act as caretaker for nato and the US. Once the population decides that’s enough, it’s game over for whatever regime the US or nato try to construct.
