A brief overview of the recent developments in Libya:
- Clashes between the LNA and the GNA continue in the Washkah area;
- According to LNA sources, the LNA captured 4 GNA militants;
- The LNA destroyed a Turkish-made BMC Kirpi vehicle near Sirte;
- Clashes between the LNA and the GNA were reported near the Tripoli airport;
- The LNA Air Force conducted strikes on GNA positions in Misrata, Qurayn, Tawergha and Tripoli.
So who has the Tuaregs? Weren’t they Gaddafi’s mobile force?
No, just raised and formed to show the flag in remote desert regions – now limited to SW corner, operate out of Ghat as a local tribal militia controlling their own area
Big picture summary : LNA has secured control over ALL the oilfields in the Sirt Basin, El-Feel (Elephant) and Shararah in the Murzuq Basin, and the Wafa Gasfield in the Ghadames Basin. This last is vital for Italy, supplying some 25 % of Italy’s natural gas via pipeline to Mellitah then undersea pipeline Greenstream to Gela, Sicily. Meantime LNA now has control of the coast highway west of Tripoli from Surmaan-Sabratah-Mellitah Oil/Gas Facility. This means that Italy should stop propping up the Tripoli regime with money, bases in Misrata, patrol boats etc.., finally face reality and deal DIRECT with HoR elected government. It is ridiculous that billions of dollars in royalties and taxes are still paid directly into Sarraj.Wefaq coffers via NOC invoices then numerous illegal accounts at Libyan Central Bank – all controlled by the gangsters ! Time for Italy to stop supporting a regime which siphons off Libyan money to pay criminal gangs and facilitates people trafficking to Italy.
East of Tripoli LNA has advanced from Sirt and Uadaan, crossed Wadi ZemZem to converge at Abu Qrayn. Airstrikes continue at/around Misrata AB, Ma’itiqah AB, Washka? area. Buerat has been bypassed, no defense of port. Tripoli sector central LNA thrust line per map, LNA advancing thru Abu Slim neighborhoods,
increasing clashes northside 3rd Ring Road line as LNA advances into fully urbanized/built-up districts as expected. So far LNA has advanced thru mixed rural/urban open terrain, now closed terrain will favor prepared defenses.
