Russian New Engine for Su-57 Stealth Jet to be classified as 5+ Gen The upcoming ‘Second Stage’ engine for the Russian Su-57 fighter jet could be classified as 5+ generation, due to its increased thrust over current fifth-generation fighter aircraft engines.

These engines are expected to be 30% lighter than their predecessors, but will put out considerably more thrust with over 24,000 lbf dry and 39,550 lbf with afterburners.
