Before the war they had around 200k professional soldiers, now it’s maybe 50k, the rest are conscripts, because they suffered such huge losses. They lost their best and most fanatic troops including the azov and marine units in Mariupol. Ukraine had around 500 tanks and 1000 artillery pieces, now it’s way less, although more modern western weapons. Russia too had considerable losses in tanks and armored vehicles, but they have huge stockpiles of weapons, so it will not affect them that much. Russia can just go and get thousands of T-80-s or T-72B-s from storage anytime, while Ukraine has to beg to the west for a few new weapons.
