i don’t see how brandon and the military amateurs running the show get any good outcome from starting a new front in yemen. houthies have already fired on israeli territory, israeli ships and fired all kinds of guided weapons on u.s. british and french warships. if anything, directly attacking the houthis may incentive them and others to lay drifting mines all over, making freedom of navigation around the red sea, sea of oman, pg and elswhere all that much more grueling

china should develop intelligent mine fields which you can temporarily disable if you can send the right signal. then deploy it everywhere in the choke points and sell subscribtions with their local partners to cross the region. whithout the signal that changes every day you get blown up by the mines. a modern variant of the chain that prevented ships to cross the bosporus in the old days of eastern rome.
