According to Russian military sources, the aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) began to use heavy FAB-1500M 54 bombs with an updated universal planning and correction module in combat operations in Ukraine.
The VKS of the Russian Federation have a large number of free-falling bombs in their disposal and their equipment with universal planning and correction modules has become one of the trump cards of the Russian military in Ukraine.
FAB-500/1000 and other heavy bombs with universal planning and correction modules are already massively used against the Ukrainian military while the Ukrainian air defence cannot intercept these targets.
The modernized FAB bombs are often used on the southern frontlines, where the Ukrainian troops attempt to consolidate forces in the recently captured settlements and where they become easy targets for Russian airstrikes. Russian pilots have recently shared several videos showing the launch of the FAB-500 bombs with universal planning and correction modules:
The bombs are dropped from the aircraft’s suspension points. In a moment, their wings open, which allow them to plan tens of kilometers. As a rsult, the Russian aircraft does not the enemy’s air defense defeat zone.
The 82th Brigades of the AFU and other Ukrainian units deployed in the area of Rabotino are regularly pounded by Russian FAB-500 bombs, which destroy their positions in the fields:
The strikes with FAB-500 on the Ukrainian grouping in Urozhainoe:
The modernized FAB-500 are also destroying Ukrainian strongholds on the western bank of the Dnieper River:
Ukrainian servicemen are also impressed by the power of Russian bombs:
However, FAB-500 is the weakest bomb in this family which is often used to destroy Ukrainian positions. The new reports claimed that the Russian military finally adjusted the universal planning and correction modules to the much more powerful FAB-1500 M54 bombs.
‘After many months of trials and errors, a couple of days ago, the first FAB-1500 M54 with the universal planning and correction module accurately found its combat target with a direct hit, ‘ the military sources claimed.
According to the reports, the Russian constructors could not simply make the planning and correction module used on FAB-500/250 larger to simply adjust it to the 1500 type. That’s why Russian specialists were forced to modify the system and change the design and mechanisms of the module. That took some time and finally the module worked well.
As a result, the drop range of the FAB-1500 M54 with the universal planning and correction module was increased several times relative to similar devices in smaller calibers. Now it is supposedly the longest-range aerial bomb with the planning and correction module in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. Their claimed accuracy is 5 meters, the explosion crater is 15 meters in diameter, and the affected area exceeds 2 square kilometers.
As confirmed by the footage above, the Su-34 fighter-bombers can carry two heavy FAB bombs at once. Soon the aircraft are planned to be modernized to be able to simultaneously drop three such powerful ammunition.
‘There is still a lot to be done, a lot to improve, to go through the inevitable process of shrinkage and adjustment, but the successful combat work with FAB-1500 has begun’ – the reports read.
Unlike the FAB-500, the use of FAB-1500 M54 with the special module are still rare, but the Russian military-industrial complex is expected to set up their mass production within a month. The list of aircraft capable to carry these bombs will also expand soon. New videos showing the destruction of large Ukrainian strongholds with FAB-1500 are likely to be widely shared online in the nearest future, if there are still any Ukrainian targets left close to the frontlines.
excellent news, well done to those engineers. i cannot wait to see these in action.
ahahahaha, those stupid ruzzian morons blow up themselves
ty katowolski chuju wypierdalaj na upaine
they mean “planing” not “planning.” for example, some aircraft “aquaplane” when landing on rain-soaked runways. the word means to fly or skate over something.
glide bombs
drop those bad boys all along the front line.
ukraine has no air defense and no air force the feeble minded western leader should surrender for the sake of the ukrainians
tak tento maco fab-1500 m54 bude robiť poriadnu paseku v radoch banderovských fašistických svíň.
now waiting to see if they can make a fab 5000 glide..
yes, this is a must to avoid necesity of use nuclear 152 mm shells. also fab-9000 exist and is time to being used … as is or modernised.
interesting to see them turning maidan square in kiev into dust
coming to a polak near you soon
ukrainian tress are now doomed!
