Kiev forces continue to launch strikes against the Russian region of Belgorod in what appears to be an attempt to terrorize civilians there.
On March 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that in three separate statements that air defenses had intercepted six Ukrainian suicide drones, eight RM-70 122 mm artillery rockets and a Tochka-U tactical ballistic missile over Belgorod.
The Ukrainian strikes caused minor damage to civilian properties in the region, according to videos posted to social media.
Belgorod governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said in a post on his Telegram channel that two civilians, a man and a woman, were killed in the strike. At least three other civilians were wounded, including a child.
“Sadly, two people died: a man and a woman. The man was driving a truck when he was hit by a shell, after which the car crashed into a passenger bus. Residents there were not injured. Another woman died in a garage cooperative, where she and her son came to feed the dogs. Unfortunately, the woman died on the spot. Doctors are fighting for the life of her son – the boy has shrapnel wounds to the back of his head, shoulder and chest,” the governor said.

“Two more men received closed head injuries. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory. All victims were taken to city hospital Number 2 in Belgorod, where doctors provided them with all the necessary medical care,” he added.
The Kiev regime has been launching strikes against Belgorod on a daily basis for over a week and since March 12 its forces have been attempting to infiltrate the region.
In recent days, hundreds of Ukrainian troops were eliminated by the Russian military and security forces on the border separating the region and neighboring Kursk from Ukraine. Dozens of pieces of military equipment, including Western-made infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and self-propelled howitzers, were also destroyed.
The aim of Ukraine’s repeated attacks on Belgorod appears to be to terrorize civilians there and to disturb the Russia presidential election.
The Kiev regime also sees attacks on Russian territory as a way to make up for its recent heavy losses and defeats on the battlefield.
