Russian Army Deals More Blows To Kiev Forces On The Front (Videos)

The Russian military has repelled another wave of Ukrainian attacks in several directions, according to the September 17 briefing of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled three attacks by Ukraine’s 53rd mechanized infantry and 79th air assault brigades near Khimik and Maryinka.

Up to 180 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded during the fighting in this direction, the ministry said, adding that two armored fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, one German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzer and one Grad multiple rocket launcher were also destroyed.

Meanwhile in the Zaporozhye direction, another attack by the 47th Mechanized Brigade of Kiev forces was repelled close to Rabotino. Gatherings of the 82nd air assault, 71st chaser and 47th mechanized brigades were also targeted close to Verbovoye and Rabotino.

Kiev forces lost 140 troops, one American-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and four motor vehicles in this direction, according to the ministry.

In addition, three Ukrainian towed howitzers, one American-made M777, one American-made M119 and one D-30, were destroyed by counter-battery fire.

An ammunition depot of Ukraine’s 43rd Artillery Brigade was also targeted and destroyed in the outskirts of Novodanilovka.

In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled two attacks by Ukraine’s 12th special forces and 67th mechanized brigades close to Chervonaya Dibrova and in the Serebryansky forestry. The group also targeted gatherings of the 21st, 63rd and 67th mechanized brigades near Yampolovka, Torskoye and in the Serebryanskoye forestry.

According to the ministry, 65 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks were neutralized during the fighting in this direction.

In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled three attacks of the 35th and 36th marine brigade near Staromayorskoye and Priyutnoye.

The group’s artillery and aviation also targeted several gatherings of manpower and equipment of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade near Ugledar and the 108th Territorial Defence Brigade close to Voskresenka.

The ministry said that 170 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles, five motor vehicles and one electronic warfare system were destroyed during the fighting in this direction.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces attacked several gatherings of the 32nd, 115th mechanized, 25th, 95th airborne brigades close to Boldyrevka, Sinkovka, Ivanovka and Berestovoye. Up to 50 Ukrainian troops and four motor vehicles were destroyed.

Moreover, two self-propelled howitzers, An American-made M109 and a Polish-made Krab, as well as an American-made M777 towed howitzer were destroyed by counter-battery fire. Two American-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radars were also destroyed near Peschanoye and Petropavlovka.

Meanwhile in the Kherson direction, Kiev forces lost 20 troops, one armored fighting vehicle, two motor vehicles to Russian military fire. A Ukrainian drone command and control was also destroyed near Dneprovskoye.

The Russian MoD also provided the following details in its briefing:

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized manpower and military hardware in 114 areas.

In addition, a missile strike hit the production workshops of the Kharkov Armored Plant, where AFU armored vehicles were being repaired and restored close to Kharkov.

Command and observation posts of AFU 100th territorial defense and 67th mechanized brigades were destroyed near Serebryanka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The Russian anti-aircraft defense means have intercepted two JDAM guided aerial bombs, one HARM anti-radar missile and one U.S.-manufactured HIMARS MLRS projectile.

28 UAVs were destroyed and suppressed by electronic warfare means close to Vasilevka, Nevelskoye, Spornoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Olshana, Golikovo, Kremennaya (Lugansk People’s Republic), Azov, Novoye, Romanovskoye, Ocheretovatoye (Zaporozhye region) and Radensk (Kherson region).

In total, 472 airplanes, 249 helicopters, 6,838 unmanned aerial vehicles, 437 air defense missile systems, 11,919 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,151 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,411 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 13,090 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

Meanwhile, Russian news sources shared videos showing 25 strikes with FPV suicide drones against Ukrainian troops, equipment and positions.

It’s worth noting that the Russian military foiled several Ukrainian drone attacks in the early morning, intercepting two drones which were heading towards Moscow city, six others off the cost of the Crimea Peninsula and one more over the Voronezh region.

Ukraine launched its counteroffensive fifteen weeks ago. Kiev forces sustained heavy losses while attempting to advance in Zaporozhye and several other directions. However, the Russian military is still holding its ground.

yes it seems like a war of attrition, and in some ways it is similar and dissimilar to the two world wars. the first lasted 4 years and the second six; perhaps the ukrainian conflict will last between 4 to 6 years? if the two world wars are anything to understand the present conflict, the ukrainian conflict may end with major, tectonic world upheavals.
