The Russian military launched one mass strike and 57 group strikes against Ukrainian military sites and related infrastructure over the past week, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on March 30.
The strikes were carried out using weapons launched from the air, ground and sea, the ministry said in a briefing, revealing that 3M22 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles and Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic ballistic missiles were used.
According to the ministry, the Russian strikes “wiped out” Ukrainian defense industry enterprises, military and security decision-making centers, unmanned surface vehicle production facilities, ammunition depots, fuel depots, air defense systems, power plants as well as temporary deployment areas of special operations units and foreign mercenaries.
“The goal of the strikes have been achieved. All the assigned targets have been engaged,” the ministry said.
In the same briefing, the ministry provided a detailed overview of Ukrainian losses across the frontline in the special military zone over the past week.
The ministry said that the Russian Zapad Group of Forces inflicted losses on seven Ukrainian mechanized brigades and four territorial defense brigades near Ivanovka, Stelmakhovka and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Kupyansk direction.
The group repelled 11 counter-attacks launched by the 95th Air Assault Brigade, 57th Motorised Rifle Brigade, 30th, 32th mechanized brigades and the 123rd Territorial Defence Brigade of Kiev forces near Sinkovka, Terni and the Serebryansky forestry.
Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 310 troops, two tanks, three armored fighting vehicles and 22 motor vehicles, according to the ministry, which also said that Kiev forces lost 19 field artillery systems, including three American-made M777 and M198 and one French-made Caesar to Russian counter-battery fire.
In the Donetsk direction, the ministry said that the Russian Yug Group of Forces captured the settlement of Krasnoye and improved the tactical situation along the front.
The group also launched strikes against six Ukrainian assault brigades, two airmobile brigades, one tank brigade and nine mechanized brigades near Belogorovka, Kleshcheyevka, Kurdyumovka, Andreyevka, Maksimilyanovka, Novomikhailovka, Paraskoviyevka, Spornoye and Chasov Yar.
In addition, the group repelled 12 counter-attacks launched by the 67th Mechanised Brigade and 80th Air Assault Brigade of Kiev forces near Bogdanovka and Krasnogorovka, according to the ministry.
The losses of Kiev forces in this direction amounted to more than 2,360 Ukrainian troops, five tanks, 16 armored fighting vehicles, 61 motor vehicles and 23 field artillery systems, including 11 foreign-made samples.
Meanwhile in the Avdeyevka direction, the ministry said that the Tsentr Group of Forces advanced and captured more advantageous lines.
The group also launched air and artillery strikes against eight Ukrainian brigades and repelled 64 enemy counter-attacks near Semyonovka, Orlovka, Novgorodskoye, Umanskoye, Netaylovo, Pervomayskoye, Tonenkoye and Berdychi.
Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to more than 1,870 troops, 13 tanks, 20 armored fighting vehicles and 50 motor vehicles.
The ministry also said that 30 field artillery systems, including five American-made M777, one American-made M109, one German-made Panzerhaubitze 2000 and one BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, were destroyed by Russian counter-battery fire in this direction.
And in the South Donetsk direction, the Vostok Group of Forces improved the tactical situation along the front line and inflicted losses on seven Ukrainian brigades near Malinovka, Urozhaynoye, Makarovka and Ugledar, according to the ministry.
The group also repelled five attacks launched by the 58th Motorised Rifle Brigade, 127th and the 128th territorial defense brigades of Kiev forces near Staromayorskoye, Vodyanoye and Priyutnoye.
The ministry said that Kiev forces lost 860 Ukrainian troops, four armored fighting vehicles, 35 motor vehicles, seven field artillery systems, including two Polish-made Krab and two British-made FH-70, during the fighting in this direction.
In the Kherson direction, ministry said that the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted losses on Ukraine’s 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, 28th, 65th, 118th mechanized brigades, 35th Marines Brigade and three territorial defense brigades near Rabotino, Novosyolovka, Nesteriyanka, Pyatikhatki, Ivanovka, Mikhailovka, Gavrilovka and Tyaginka.
The Ukrainian losses amounted to more than 370 troops, two tanks, seven armored fighting vehicles, 29 motor vehicles and 13 field artillery systems, including five American-made M777s.
In addition, the ministry revealed in the briefing that the Russian Missile Troops and Artillery as well as units equipped with drones wiped out four multiple rocket launchers, including one German-made MARS II, one Czech-made RM-70 Vampire and one Grad, five P-18 radar stations, three American-made counter-battery stations, an AN/TPQ-36, an AN/TPQ-48 and an AN/TPQ-50, as well as 18 electronic warfare systems, including Nota, Anclav-N and Bukovel-AD, over the past week.
During the same period, 18 Ukrainian troops were taken prisoner in different directions by the Russian military, according to the ministry.
Also over the past week, Russian air defenses shot down 11 British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles, three Neptune anti-ship missiles, four American-made ADM-160 missiles, two S-200 air defense missiles converted to hit ground targets, two French-made AASM guided bombs, 171 HIMARS, Vampire and Uragan projectile as well as 1208 drones.
“In total, 577 airplanes and 270 helicopters, 17,773 unmanned aerial vehicles, 489 air defense missile systems, 15,644 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,257 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 8,582 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 20,381 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation,” the ministry concluded.
In recent weeks, Kiev forces took heavy human and material losses across the frontline in the special military operation zone without making any achievements. However, the past week was particularly bad for Ukraine due to Russian missile and drone strikes behind the frontline.
