The Russian military’s Sever Group of Forces inflicted heavy losses on several formations of Kiev forces and repelled several Ukrainian counter-attacks in the Kursk direction, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on October 27.

The ministry said in its daily briefing that Ukraine’s 22nd, 41st, 115th mechanized brigades, the 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, the 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 112th and 129th territorial defense brigades took losses near the settlements of Daryino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, and Plyokhovo.

It added that a total of eight counter-attacks were repelled close to the settlements of Daryino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, and Novoivanovka.

“The AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] losses were up to 60 troops killed and wounded, and one United States-made Stryker armored personnel carrier. One AFU serviceman surrendered,” the ministry continued.

The ministry also announced that a wave of Russian air and artillery strikes hit gatherings of the 21st, 22nd, 41st, 47th, and 115th mechanized brigades, the 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd, and 95th air assault brigades, the 36th Marine Brigade, the 17th National Guard Brigade, as well as 103rd, 112th, and 129th territorial defense brigades.

It said that the gatherings were targeted near the settlements of Aleksandriya, Viktorovka, Gogolevka, Guyevo, Daryino, Zeleny Shlyakh, Kazachya Loknya, Kolmakov, Kruglenkoye, Kurilovka, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martynovka, Melovy, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Oleshnya, Plyokhovo, Sverdlikovo, Tolsty Lug, and Cherkasskoe Porechnoye.

Other strikes hit the Ukrainian region of Sumy, which borders Kursk, according to the ministry, which said that the reserves of 21st, 41st, 47th, 61st, 115th mechanized brigades, the 95th Air Assault Brigade, the 1004th Security and Service Brigade, the 1st National Guard Brigade, as well as the 101st, 103rd, 107th, and 129th territorial defence brigades were hit close to the settlements of Basovka, Belovody, Zhuravka, Miropolye, Pavlovka, Stetskovka, and Sumy.

“During the day, the enemy losses were up to 250 troops, two armored vehicles including one U.S.-made Stryker armored personnel carrier, and one armored fighting vehicle as well as one mortar and one motor vehicle. One AFU serviceman surrendered,” the ministry detailed in its briefing.

Separately, Russian media released several videos showing some of the strikes that hit Kiev forces in the Kursk direction in recent days.

Kiev forces launched a surprise attack from Sumy into Kursk last August, relying mainly on foreign mercenaries and Western-made weapons.

Since the start of the attack, at least 56 Russian civilians have been killed and more than 266 others have been wounded. Moreover, the attack displaced more than 144,000 civilians. The fate of some 2,000 others who lived in areas attacked by Kiev forces remain unknown.

The Russian military launched a counter-attack in Kursk in September. Nearly half of the settlements initially occupied by Ukrainian troops have been already liberated.

According to the Russian MoD, since the start of the battle in Kursk Kiev forces have lost 27,150 troops, 177 tanks, 97 infantry fighting vehicles, 106 armored personnel carriers, 1,014 armored fighting vehicles, 693 motor vehicles, 229 artillery guns, 40 launchers, including 11 American-made HIMARS and six MLRS systems, nine air defense systems, seven transport-loading vehicles, 57 electronic warfare stations, 11 counter-battery radars, three aerial radars, 22 engineering vehicles, including 13 counter obstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle and three armored recovery vehicle.

looking on the maps, it really doesn’t look like half of the settlements were liberated. it looks pretty much as a stalemate and it will not change until the next year spring as winter is not a good season for big offensive. so again, it is a lot of propaganda and very limited information. we are not imbeciles. sorry.

the truth is that russian generals = morons overlooked 20,000 ukrainian troops and hundred of vehicles, the ukraine attack caught them completely off guard, a lot of russian soldiers died there, 200,000 civilians fled as best they could, because russia completely f*cked them up. then it took a month or so for the relevant orders to bubble up and down, and after a month or so it’s still in the same state, so it’s a mess
