The Russian military had inflicted heavy human and material losses on Kiev forces in the directions of Donetsk, Krasnolimansky and Kupyansk, Russian military sources reported on September 27.
In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled two attacks by Ukraine’s 53rd and 110th mechanized brigades near Vodyanoye and Krasnohorivka. The group’s aviation also destroyed four temporary deployment points of the 3rd assault, 24th, 93rd and 110th mechanized brigades close to Dzerzhinsk, Stupochki and Avdeevka.
Moreover, 14 gatherings of manpower and equipment were targeted with aviation and artillery fire. Several units from the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade were also hit near Georgievka.
As a result of the group’s strikes, three tanks, one infantry fighting vehicle, eight motor vehicles, one ammunition depot, two strong points, one communications and one drone control center were destroyed.
In addition, one American-made M777 towed howitzer and seven 120 mm towed mortars were destroyed near Andreevka, Aleksandro-Shultino, Kleshcheevka and Verkhnekamensky by counter-battery fire.
The group’s defense and electronic warfare systems also downed 21 drones over Krasnaya Gora, Kodema, Konstantinovka and Maryinka.
Meanwhile in the Krasnolimansky direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled five attacks by Ukraine’s 67th Mechanized Brigade and the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” in the Serebryansky forestry. Fighter bombers of the group also carried out airstrikes against two command and observation posts in the same area.
Kiev forces lost 40 troops, one infantry fighting vehicle and a pickup truck during the fighting in this direction. An American-made HIMARS precision-guided rocket was also intercepted.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Zapad Group of Forces attacked a deployment point of the 43rd Mechanised Brigade near Cherneshchina.
In addition, Ka-52, Mi-28 attack helicopters and Su-25 ground-attack aircraft of the group launched 12 airstrikes with missiles and bombs against gatherings of the 14th, 32nd mechanized, 95th air assault brigades and Territorial Defense units close to Ivanovka, Sinkovka, Berestovoye and Olivovsky Yar.
An attempt to rotate forces from the 14th Mechanised Brigade in forward positions near Sinkovka was also thwarted by artillery fire.
In addition, counter-battery fire destroyed one 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer and an ammunition depot close to Peschanoye and Novoyegorovka.
Kiev forces lost around two platoons of infantry, two pickup trucks, one drone and one Starlink satellite communication station in this direction.
And in the Kharkov direction, Russian artillery and aviation foiled attempts by Kiev forces to restore supplies to its formations across the Oskol River.
Russian news sources also released footage showing pinpoint Russian airstrikes that targeted a number of Ukrainian ammunition depots and deployment points in different directions in recent days.
Ukraine launched its counteroffensive more than three months ago. Despite sustaining heavy human and material losses, Kiev forces are yet to break through Russian defenses in any direction. Worsening weather conditions will likely bring the counteroffensive into a halt within a few weeks.
