On December 22, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu officially announced that Russian forces used Iskander short-range ballistic missile systems during the operation against terrorists in Syria. MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE OPERATION
The Iskander is a a mobile short-range ballistic missile system produced by Russia. The missile system has the range of 500km. It can use both ballistic and cruise missiles. The system is designed for the engagement of point and area targets, including command posts, troops in concentration areas and strongpoints.
The statement of Shoigu was the first official confirmation that the system had been used in Syria.
Russia I am sure will build many more of these valuable and potent systems to deter the NATO warmongers. I hope so anyway :)
