Early on April 19, a missile attack attributed to the Russian military hit a key transportation hub of Kiev forces in the region of Dnepropetrovsk.
The strikes targeted a bus station as well as a locomotive depot in Dnipro city. The work of the local railroad was temporarily suspended as a result. According to Ukrainian railways, the infrastructure was damaged not only in the city, but also in other parts of the region. There were reports of casualties.
A local harbor on the Dnipro River was also hit. Several boats were destroyed or damaged there, according to photos posted to social networks.

There were also reports of additional Russian missile strikes against infrastructure and other targets in the cities of Synelnykove, Pavlohrad and Kryvyi Rih. Casualties were reported.
Kh-22 missiles launched from Tu-22M3 strategic bombers as well as Kh-59/69 and Kh-101/555 air-launched cruise missiles were used in the strikes, according to Kiev forces, which also reported an attack with more than a dozen Geran-1/2 suicide drones.
As usual, the forces claimed that most of the missiles, including two Kh-22s, and drones were intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses, ignoring the damage caused by the strike.
This time however Kiev forces took things a step further by claiming that a Russian Tu-22M3 that crashed near the city of Stavropol, more than 300 kilometers away from the frontline in Ukraine, was also shot down by their air defenses.
The Russian Defense Ministry clarified later that the crash was the result of a “technical malfunction,” according to the TASS news agency. It said three of those on board the plane had been rescued while a fourth crew member was unaccounted for.
The Russian military resumed large-scale strikes against Ukraine last month following a series of of provocations by Kiev, including dozens of strikes with rockets, missiles and suicide drones on Russian territory as well as several unsuccessful cross-border attacks.
