The Russian Ministry of Defenses has provided a detailed summary of Ukrainian losses during week sixteen of the so-called spring counteroffensive.

According to the ministry, the Russian military carried out 12 group strikes with high-precision long-range missiles and drones against repair facilities for aircraft and tanks, oil refineries, depots for ammunition, high-precision weapons and foreign-made armaments as well as reconnaissance and sabotage training centers and foreign mercenaries’ deployment points between September 17 and 22.

“As a result of the strikes, significant damage was inflicted on the logistics system of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] groups operating in Kherson and Zaporozhye directions,” the ministry said, adding that “the capabilities of the enemy’s repair and recovery bodies were reduced and some of the cruise missiles, depleted uranium ammunition, multiple rocket launchers and anti-aircraft missile systems transferred by the West to Ukraine were destroyed.”

The ministry also provided details about the combat situation in different directions within the special military operation zone over the past week.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled 28 attacks by Ukraine’s 53rd and 110th Mechanised, 79th Air Assault and 3rd Assault brigades close to Kleshcheyevka, Avdeevka and Maryinka.

“Over the past week, as a result of air, missile and artillery strikes in this direction, the enemy’s losses amounted to more than 1,455 Ukrainian troops killed and wounded, 16 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 25 motor vehicles, 15 field artillery pieces and three multiple rocket launchers. In addition, three ammunition depots and two military echelons of the 37th AFU Marine Brigade were destroyed at loading stations,” the ministry said.

In the South Donetsk direction, Russian forces repelled five attacks and continued to target Ukrainian gatherings of manpower and equipment.

Ukrainian losses in this direction over the past week amounted to 950 troops, who were killed or wounded, the ministry said, adding that 14 armored fighting vehicles, 32 motor vehicles and five field artillery pieces. In addition, two ammunition depots were wiped out.

As a result of the significant losses and the low morale, the Kiev regime is withdrawing units of the 38th Marine Brigade and the 110th Territorial Defence Brigade of the AFU to rear areas to restore combat capability.

In Zaporozhye direction, Russian forces repelled eight attacks by Ukraine’s 71st Jeager, 47th Mechanised and 46th Airmobile brigades near Rabotino and Verbovoye.

“During the fighting, more than 515 Ukrainian servicemen, 24 armored fighting vehicles and 19 motor vehicles were destroyed. In addition, 35 enemy field artillery pieces were neutralized as part of counter-battery warfare,” the ministry said.

And in the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces continued to hit the manpower and equipment of the 14th, 30th and 32nd mechanized and 25th airborne brigades of Kiev forces close to Sinkovka, Ivanovka and Berestovoye (Kharkov region).

Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 215 troops, six armored fighting vehicles, 18 motor vehicles, 24 field artillery guns and one American-made M1097 Avenger missile system, the ministry side.

In the Krasny Liman direction, units of the 63rd and 67th mechanized brigades and the 12th Special Operations Brigade made unsuccessful attempts to attack the positions of Russian forces near Yampolovka, Torskoye, Chervonaya Dibrova and the Serebryansky forestry.

“As a result of courageous action by units of the Tsentr Group of Forces, air strikes, artillery fire and heavy flame-throwing systems, 15 enemy attacks were repelled,” the ministry said.

Up to 435 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded. In addition, 15 armored fighting vehicles, 16 motor vehicles and eight guns were destroyed.

Meanwhile in the Kherson direction, Kiev forces made unsuccessful attempts to seize bridgeheads on islands and the left bank of the Dnepr River.

“During military operations, the AFU lost up to 445 troops, nine armored fighting vehicles, 35 motor vehicles, 11 field artillery guns. In addition, eight sabotage and reconnaissance groups were disabled,” the ministry said.

The ministry also revealed that Russian air defense systems in the Crimean Peninsula destroyed five Ukrainian cruise missiles, one Neptun anti-ship missile and 37 attack drones over the past week.

During the same period, Russian fighter jets and air defenses managed to shoot down Su-24m, MiG-29 and two Su-25 ground-attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force near Novovladimirovka, Novorozovka and Novopokrovka.

In addition, Russian loitering munition hit a Ukrainian Mig-29 fighter jet at the Dolgintsevo airfield, two ST-68 radar stations near Volnyansk as well as P-18 and PRV-16 radar stations near Novopetrovka.

Air defense and electronic warfare systems also intercepted 257 drones, 46 HIMARS rockets, nine Storm Shadow cruise missiles, two JDAM air bombs and three HARM anti-radiation missiles during the week.

“In total, 477 airplanes and 249 helicopters, 7,067 unmanned aerial vehicles, 438 air defense missile systems, 12,071 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,154 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,502 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 13,351 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation,” the ministry concluded.

In addition to the information provided by the ministry, lostarmour.info, a website that tracks military losses, documented ten strikes with Lancet loitering munitions and 97 strikes with FPV suicide drones against Kiev forces between September 17 and 22.

Kiev forces sustained heavy losses and failed to break through Russian defenses during the past week. Despite this failure, the Kiev regime appears to be determined to go on with the counteroffensive up until winter.
