A Russian Navy task force made up of 12 landing ships from the Northern, Baltic and Black Sea fleets is ready to perform combat tasks in the Black Sea, a Crimean security source told the TASS news agency on June 3.
“For the first time ever, a Russian Navy task force of this size is active in the Black Sea. It comprises twelve large landing ships of the Northern, Baltic and Black Sea fleets,” the unnamed source said. “Those large landing ships are ready to perform assigned tasks as part of the special military operation”.
According to the source, the task force includes the Pyotr Morgunov, Olenegorsky Gornyak and Georgy Pobedonosets landing ships from the Northern Fleet, the Korolev, Minsk and Kaliningrad landing ships from the Baltic Fleet and the Yamal, Orsk and Nikolay Filchenkov from the Balck Sea Fleet.
All the landing ships are from the Ropucha-class, except for the Orsk and Nikolay Filchenkov which are from the Tapir-class.
It important to note here that the Orsk reportedly sunk as a result of the March 24 explosion at Berdiansk port. The current condition of the landing ship is unknown.
Each Ropucha-class landing ship can carry ten battle tanks and 340 troops, or 12 armored vehicles and 340 troops or three battle tanks, three self-propelled mortars, five armored vehicles, four army trucks and 313 troops. The larger, yet older, Tapir-class landing ship can carry between 300-425 troops and 20 battle tanks, or 40 armored vehicles.
The Russian military is currently in complete control of the eastern part of the Ukrainian coast as well as of the Snake Island off the western part of the coast.
Since the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, there have been several reports of a Russian Navy plan to land troops in Odessa on the western part of the country’s cost. While the Russian Navy is definitely capable of preforming such a task, Moscow may opt not to make such a move while the battles are still ongoing in the Donbass.

A bunch of 300 ukrop soldiers were got by the nazi commissars and sent back on the frontline in Severodonetsk. They sent a bunch of western mercs with them. Right now the pro-russian Telegram channels are showing corpses of fried mercs.
To reinforce the collapsing front, they have sent in the ultras too. One of them is being paraded by the russians as a trophy. Just another horrible day for the ukrops, with around 600 dead ukrops. This time there are even dead mercs, nazis and ultras.

With Wagner crushing AFU forces in Mykolaiv region they could be reinforced with DPR and Chechens fighters, now that Mariupol is done with, to surround and chock Mykolaiv itself like they did to Mariupol and also keep pushing toward Transnistria to protect the Marines to siege & storm Odessa.
Ukraine is getting pounded so badly everywhere, VDV troops in Khakiv are doing a good job at teasing AFU and wasting time & resources of the AFU in that front, while the entire region in Severodonetsk is getting chocked from all side, AFU is gonna lose a good 15k troops.
Things are going rather well for Russia.

I’m sure the Russians are shaking in their boots over facing a 45 year old, short range, subsonic missile that has to be deployed in Ukraine with a chunk of ship because they never built a shore based launcher for it. Russian sats are going to be on the lookout for a pickup truck with a poop deck and missile launcher welded to it.

You could really do with landing river ferry boats to get the tanks across those rivers when all of the bridges are blown up all of the time. The operation for Odessa is ready and should be launch,the beach head should be getting bomb by now for atelast a week straight,special force and group marines need to seized the beach and once seize an other special force make of atleat 3 separate team need to be drop behind enemies line to destract the enemies they have to be back up bay war plane on regural basis and drone and mass artillery power ,once all complete,the landing ships need to start heading to land the main force on the beach head and they need to dispatch towards the main 3 special force team positions which will be in tree different areas.
Why landing?? They can attack on land. There is no need for landing. Just start offensive from kherson toward Nikolayev and Odessa. When Ukrop being trapped in Odessa couldron, you may send landing ships toward that finger of land near Romania…
It is vert unlikely that Odesa would be the target for these vessels, other than to send a message that should the port be de- mined then Russia is ready to strike. However, this would be more a political message as part of the grain embargo unblocking discussion where Russia is also seeking free passage for its fertilizer and grain. The more likely military use would either be to deliver flexible reinforcements to already held areas along the black see coast or to take land close to the Moldovan border on the black sea to link up with Transnistria. This area would be reasonably easy to protect and would offer both monitoring capability over western Ukraine and a position to launch missile based attacks against western Ukraine. It would put western Ukraine even more under the spotlight, whilst additionally offering options of Transnistria link up and attacking Ukrainian Nazis forces engaged to the west of Kherson from the back. It would also along the way put more pressure on mykolayiv

That’s awesome, unfortunately they aren’t needed and can’t be used due to the inability of the Russians to neutralize the 2nd rate Ukranian coastal defenses.
Although we live in the 21st century, where lasers, thermal imaging and many other sensors are part of everyday life, be sure that the Musket of the 16th century can still kill you. The Russians do not control that coast, so they cannot know where the positions of the Ukrainian defense are hidden, and there is no need to go blind and lose with one ship, 9% of the invading forces. Another option is to burn that coast before landing, but they don’t want that either, because that would lead to mass suffering of the pro-Russian population …
It seems Odessa will very likely be liberated soon. The majority of people in the area didn’t want to be a US/nato bitch. Although that was before innocent people began to be murdered by thugs of the Kiev junta.
I sure wouldn’t want to be one of those who took part in openly, and before numerous cameras, murdering innocent people, and ironically, fellow Ukrainians. Let’s hope a Russian court can sort it all out, which i am sure they will. More ‘refugees’ anyone?

A landing of 4000 troops, 100 plus tanks and support vehicles is not only doable but a serious threat to Odessa. Add the troops in the separatists regions of Moldova and a couple extra loads of troops and weapon systems on these landing ships and you have over a division attacking Odessa from the South. Odessa could fall in a couple of weeks. Maybe a lot sooner. Ukraine loses Odessa and the war is over.
How have those 9 ships managed to enter the Black Sea? At the beginning of the conflict they only had 3. Turkey was banned from entering warships in fact NATO could not enter.
Montrose does not apply to Nations that border the black sea. It means nations who do not have a border can be banned from entering. These ships however have been in Sevastapol since the start. Also Russia has a good network of rivers and canals and can transfer ships from the Baltic and the Caspian and even the North sea fleet to the black sea. Ships under a thousand tons but still war ships..
